small highly tuned engines need a lot more care, my sv650 needed about 10 seconds of choke and my tl1000s needs none.

15 minutes sounds like a lot of time though even my bandit 400 only needed a minute or so, if it bothers you and you have a full licence im sure you can upgrade to a bigger bike and avoid the prob

I just start the engine wth choke on before i put all my gear on.

After i put my gear on the temp is around 37..i just get on and turn the choke of abt half a mile down the road and keep the revs under 6000 before the engine is up to temp.

Seems to work fine so far!

I always warm up my RS before going anywhere, they're self destructive little things at the best of times! Laughing

From cold to 55 usually takes about 4-5 minutes with a couple of blips of the throttle. Even after that I'll ride it gently at first.

2t needs to be warmed up properly or it can wreck the engine. 4t bikes do not need much warming up although i tend not to ride that fast when its a cold engine.

About 1 minute probably, just till it can pull away without chugging then don't get her lit for 5 minutes.

There's been a few threads on this. It takes over 15minutes for any bike to be fully warmed up.

I ride my bike away as soon as i've started it and if it's warm enough I will start it without the choke(mostly requires a little bit of throttle though). If not, i'll turn the choke off as soon as i'm moving. Kickstart put forward a pretty good argument why it's not good for your bike to leave it idling with the choke on: The extra petrol washes the oil away from the cylinder meaning more metal-on-metal contact Thumbs Down

i leave the choke on for about 40 seconds maybe then knock it completely off and i keep hold of the throttle so its at about 2.5thousand rpm otherwise it just cuts out till its warm enough
