No idea about the specifics of checking the NSR coolant level, but I've found that "3-IN-ONE with PTFE" no less, from Halfords for £3 (I think) is the best stuff I've used so far. Castrol chain wax is horrible and dries out really quickly, not to mention going green.

If it were a four-stroke and you were changing the oil reasonably frequently, dousing it in old engine oil every week or two appears to be a good way of doing it too.

For a coolant check, open your tank and you will see the reservouir. The reservouir on the left is the coolant tank - the one on the right is the engine oil reservouir. It is semi-transparent so just make sure the level of fluid in it is above the minimum line on the reservouir.

Is this on the right hand side near the foot peg? If it is then that is the gear-box oil level, check that when the engine is off otherwise it looks empty.

As for Chain oil you can use normal gear oil for it or go to halfords and buy some chain-lube. Thumbs Up
