Hi

My chain can no longer be adjusted by the swingarm, and I need to take out a few links.

How do I go about doing this?

Can I just use a hammer and pin to take out the rivets (bad description) on the loose link or should i buy a chain rremover thing?

Thanks

Dan

If your chain is so worn that it can't be further adjusted with the swingarm, it's time for a new one. Taking links out will only end in tears. Compare the cost of a new crankcase after the shortened chain has snapped against the cost of a new chain. The new chain will come out cheaper. You should change the sprockets at the same time.

ok

Thanks. When the new chain comes, will be an exact fit or will that also need to be adjusted lightly by taking links out?

Thanks

Dan

If you ask nicely, im sure if the shop has facilities they will remove the necessary links.

If you get a standard chain and the standard sprockets for your bike, it should all just fit fine straight away.

Exactly!

Never ever just put a chain on, you may as well throw money down the drain! The worn sprockets at best will eat the new chain, and at worst throw the chain and you down the road. Always fit as a set. Thumbs Up
