i rod emy scooter back from my mates, which is about 12 mile. as i got to by my house, i stopped to go on to the path an as i went to put throttle back on, it just bogged down and died.
its still walm an i try start it and it wont work, but if i put the choke on it will. then when i take the choke off, it bogs down agen when i rev it on it dies.

its a malossi big bore carb and it has a manual choke

someone have a clue what it could be??

once you sort your problem out mate sell the thing and get a different bike mate you have had a lot of problems with it.

Sounds to me like your crab needs a good clean and tuning

not enough air it sounds like as it dies once you take the choke off.

Putting your choke on allows more air into your carb.

Play around with your carb but be careful not to make your ped run lean

So does it have a big bore kit on the bike or just a larger carb? if it is a big bore have you changed the jetting? or of it is just a different carb, put the original one on and use the factory standard settings.

Doesn't sound like it is flooding as it runs OK when you are manipulating the choke (which is enriching the mixture)

Is the air filter clean? if it is a two stroke put a new spark plug in it.

I had a similar problem on my NSR, turned out the cylinder wall was cracked, so low compression and would only run with the choke on.

Maybe its jetted up wrong? You may have a too big jet, check the size and make sure its the standard size. Unless you have performance mods.

right, its got something like a 63cc barrel kit on it now with the malossi big bore carb on, its been jetted right for that kit ( he said he put a slightly bigger than the recommended one in because i go moraless flat out)
the mechanic who fixed it said there might be some crap in the carp, by the jetting or something, so i just taken the float bowl off, cleaned inside it, removed the pilot jet, blew inside that, put it back together an it ticked over fine

im just wondering if i might need to do something else before it breaks again

thanx

What does the plug look like, as if he put a bigger jet than it needs in it will be fouling the plugs much faster.

You what? Eh?

Choking the carburettor increases the venturi effect, lowering the air pressure, so sucks through more fuel.

Agreed with the clean at any rate.

Sounds like there's crap in the fuel tank. Fit a fuel filter and see if that helps.
