The bulbs are 45W/40W bosch bulbs. Thats all you need to know. Cant get xenon ones for it, the fittings dont fit, but if you want to look cool with blue bulbs then you can buy blue sidelight bulbs for £5 www.speeding.co.uk or you can use a bit of glass paint, just dip the bulbs in the pot and let them dry on a bit of blue tak.
Hope this helps

 |

I got 45w/40w Bosch bulbs from the Honda dealer here in Belfast (though I understand you can get them at Halfords). Cost about £3.80 for two. I decided to have a go replacing the bulbs without taking the fearing off. Its a very fiddly job. The whole procedure took me about an hour.
If anyone is interested in replacing the bulbs with more powerful ones this is what I had to do....
I attempted the right one first. Remove the rubber cover, it just pulls off. This will expose the black plastic housing holding the bulb. You need to unscrew this ONE HALF turn to the left. Best way to do this is push it in and turn it (the space to do this is very restricted). The housing should click open, just pull the housing out to expose the bulb. To remove the bulb push it in and turn it to the left, then pull it out. Replace the new bulb the same way. Gettting the bulb housing back in is really fiddly. It should click back into place. Replacing the rubber housing correctly was a nightmare, just needs a lot of patience.
Replacing the left bulb was very difficult because the speedo cable was in the way with other wiring.
It can be done. If you have big hands, I wouldn't recommend doing this, get a mate to do it, or else take the fairing off.
The new 45w bulbs are great (twice as powerful as the standard issue ones), much brighter in daylight. I've experienced to many wankers on the road driving cars only to happy to pull out in front of me, now at least they will have a better chance of seeing me, even if I have to blind the bastards! |
