ok, my RS125 is still not fixed and me and my dad have relised that we need to take it to a aprilia garage and let them fix it even though it will leave me with a huge bill and all the money that i sell me ped with is going toward now instead of my test as i planed Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

i live in brighton area so anyone know anywhere i can take it? need both side panels replace (it going to be expensive) front bracket straigtens/replaced and new gear leaver.

any ideas would be good...

Would it be easier/cheaper to order in the parts and make the repairs yourself?

I'm not expert on RS125s, but damage like that isn't too difficult to replace/repair, and it would probably be cheaper than paying a garage to sort it out.

Is it really worth replacing the side panels? If you do get some crash bungs as well while you're at it.

Don't want to sound like a git but didn't you bin it within a week? Chances are that it will happen again. I'd leave the panels as they are in case you do come off again. My bike is scratched up but I haven't replaced the panels cos you can't see the scratches when you are riding so they don't bother me. What would bother me is replacing them costing £££ and then doing it again.

yea you got a point ive just had enough of it...already, me and my dad did try real hard thought to repair it and couldnt really, i think i mite go for test and buy a 400cc and be parpared to make at least a 600-700 loss on the RS, or keep the RS a while and see how i like it.

just was so nice when i brought it and thought my ped experience would make me ok and i did, everyone that saw said althought it was my fault i crashed that i did do anything wrong eg speed, not pay attention etc.

i might have a look at it after ive been at work and see how it looks then.

Just get it back on the road, don't worry about the cosmetics. Get your confidence back and enjoy riding again.

Don't sell it - you've just taken a knock. Get it on the road and see how you feel then.

Andy

What needs replacing, to get it back on the road?

Let us know, I can give you a hand with replacing the bits if you want!

Cosmetic damage on a learner is usually ignored. Previous owner dropped the MZ before I got to it, shafting the right side panels, destroying the headlight and nose fairing and breaking a brake lever. Replaced the brake lever and headlight (+fairing) and got a cheap running bike out of it that if I drop at some point, won't matter as much. Leave the panels as they are, save up and buy some later, meanwhile get used to your bike. As has been mentioned, you did bin it in the first week so it may be worth leaving it like that for a few months.

2nd hand panels are cheap on ebay just wait til the one u want show up

also mention what u want on forums and someone will have one they can send you

i got a mint silver left hand panel for my rs for £100 which may be a bit steep but he threw in a screen too as mine is broken.

on ebay panels sometimes go for as little as £20 but it might be a while b4 the one you want comes up and u might have to fight for it
