I've changed a faulty horn on my RS125 and didn't realise i had left the ignition switched on during the change. When i had put it back i found i had no electrics everything is dead Dash lights, starter everything. Battery is fine all fuses that i can find are fine (3 just under left of fuel tank) and starter relay is fine. Anyone got any ideas?? Crying or Very sad

Hi

Double check the fuses. You would need to leave the ignition on for ages to totally wipe out the battery. Also check that both the battery terminals are still connected, and also that you have not disconnected the earth line from the frame.

All the best

Keith

To offer some reassurance, when changing the brake light switch on my bike I left the ignition on and ended up causing sparks and smoke, and after letting it cool down and checking all the joints it fired back up...

So I doubt your ECU is written off or anything =)

Hi

Whereabouts in the West Midlands are you. Possibly someone can pop along and have a look?

All the best

Keith

Hi

Think the best thing to do is go over the bike with a multimeter and find where the power stops.

I work in Kingswinford. I can probably pop round one evening next week to have a quick look if you cannot get it sorted by then.

All the best

Keith

Hi there mate from what it sounds like you have more than likely blow yor 20amp fuse triple check it as iv looked at fuses and for they ok but there arent so have a go at that and you say you fitted a new horn check that you have connected the 2 wire to the right polarity eg +to+ -to- If not stick the key in turn it on a bump start it if it fires up check all the wires on your ignition barrel i had a friend with the earth from the igniton barrel come out and everything went dead! Good luck anyway

Well it was quite technical really, it was a very difficult one to fix.....until Keith found I'd put one of the wires on the wrong terminal in about 5 minutes of him being there!!! hahaha I admit i'm a dick!! Once again thanks Keith!! Laughing
