The keyfob on my acuman alarm has died, a new one costs a tasty £22! so I think I may aswell get a whole new alarm. I've heard those cheapy £25-35 ones from ebay aint half bad.

Anyone recommend one?

I'm not after the beeknees, just something that beeps like a bastard on speed if someone even looks at my bike funny.

I've shortlisted:

Personally, I'd get the new key fob, as I belive Acumen alarms are thatcham approved, unlike alarms for £22, plus, your Acumen is already fitted and you know it works.

I strongly belive in you pay for what you get, and an alarm for £22 is going to be *low* quality.

Either get a new keyfob or spend the extra and get a decent alarm. Most bikes with cheep alarms will still get nicked if it's worth nicking.
Cheers,
Mark.

Thanks for everyones input, The reason I'm swaying away from a new keyfob is because they're not even waterproof. My gf has the same alarm and hers is on it's last legs after a short trip in the rain (like 5mins max). I know everyone will just say, take it off the keychain etc but that isnt the point, you'd expect it to be able to withstand a splash of water.

mine doesn't withstand water either. But why complain. It does an important job, and also means that if you leave your keys in the bike (I have Sad ) Someone can't start it and ride away.

Just get used to it. You get what you pay for. Acumen make better alarms than something sold on ebay for £25 I would guess.

I got one of the CHEETAH Motorcycle Alarm Systems from ebay for £25, Works fine and easy to fit.

I did have an accuman one but it was a little temperamental, having to be return to the manufacturer a couple of times ( but that might have just been my bad luck )
