Aplogies for yet another probably obvious question.....but how can an insurance company tell whether your rs125 is restricted or not. Is it on the V5 or do you get a certificate or something that you have to fax to the insurance company or do they just take your word for it

They'll instantly assume that a 125cc being ridden on a provisional license will be at the legal power output.

But no, its very unlikely that they'll ask for proof that its restricted. Even if they did, all you do is disconnect the power valve from the servo then get a dyno readout and post that off to them, but as said, they wont ask for proof.

Cheers Keith,

Do the old bill target 125's on L plates to make sure there not deristricted. i.e. random checks or if they think the bike looks a bit to quick pull you up for a closer investigation Wink

I doubt you'd get pulled for a check to see if its restricted, a good proportion of the plod wouldnt even know where to start looking! Laughing

If you've got L's on and not doing anything daft, they'll have no reason to pull you. If you get pulled for doing silly speeds, just play dumb. "Hmm, I was sold this bike as restricted" and the such. Razz

I remember someone (think it was Lee_367 off this forum) fitted a discreet switch to his RS, which would allow him to go from restricted to full power in a matter of seconds. Seemed pretty straight forward to do so thats always an option. Thumbs Up
