what would need replacing? plates, or plates and springs, etc.?

btw. the clutch slips when over 7k, pulling hard in 3rd and up

Hi

Not that much, but depends on what plates you get, etc. New Barnett plates and springs for the FZR were about £125, EBC plates under half that.

On the FZR it is an easy job. About 10 bolts holding the clutch cover on. Then 5 bolts holding the pressure plate on, then you can just take the plates out, put in the new ones and bolt it back together. None of the bolts are done up with any great torque.

All the best

im having mine done at a garage at the moment.
FZR600 Genesis.

IIRC he said around £65 for plates, springs and gasket.
Labour would be an hour.

i tried adjusting the clutch (under the rubber cover, not at the lever) and when i tried to undo the locknut, the entire bolt turned? is there an easier way to adjust it?

btw. the bite point is about 10mm from the lever being all the way out

Hi

Sounds like the adjuster is not working correctly, or the lock nut was not done up. Free off the screw from the lock nut and give it a try. Biggest problem will be finding a suitable size socket to tighten the nut which still gives you access down the centre to hold the screw.

All the best
