Hy to all!

Im in process buying my first BIG bike. After many 50 cc and 125 cc it time to upgrade my skills on something bigger.

decided that a GS500F would be a good buy.

My problems is distributors are very far away and im curios how does the front end look from upside? Does anyone here has a digi camera and this bike i would be super grateful if he could take this picture.

I need the picture of the front half from upside. So speed meter, and RPM counter could be seen but from hyer height so whole front could be seen up to gas tank. Oh yes since im buying new 2005 if the picture should be 2004-2005 model?

I a very grateful for your help  . I can add a small paint image so if sombody is willing to picture you could see what i need, and my bad english didnt explain too well.

Suzuki SV650S Thumbs Up

And the kind of bars you're looking for are called 'clip ons' and most bikes like the GS500 and similar don't have them. The faired version of the SV650 is the most similar thing I can think of that does, that or a Honda Bros. Smile

How old are you?

It's just you said you were going to buy brand new, and now want a CBR600F - so are you still buying brand new? Confused

I'm just a little confused as to why you considered the GS500 when you can obviously afford to buy and run a CBR600F??? (and at a fairly young age, I assume).

Good on you if you can, but it'll cost a fair bit more than the GS500 you were originally wanting.....

Hy to all,

yes i saved some money sold my one year 125 and decided it is time for first big bike. Im 20 years old and i wanted to gain some experience in the middle before jumping on a CBR. Well looks like it aint happen. Il be just very careful until i gain experience. Yes i know the CBR is 10.500 Euros new so il have to wait a month or so to get the extra funds needed  . Luckily international people adore my high tech devices i make as a hobby  .

Burn rubber, not your soul 8o)

Edit: In the game my 2 "dream" bike are CBR600F and ZZR600. The ZZR600 fell out of the game because evrybody says that it is too old in technology and CBR is the way to go. Could somone comment these two bikes? My opinion is also that the CBR is way to go.

All I'm going to say is that even an early 1990's ZZR would be more bike than you will need at this stage in your biking life, and it'll take you years before you are able to match the capabilities of such a bike.

Don't let anyone fool you into buying the newest bike, as chances are you may well drop it as it's your first big bike - spend less than £2000 on a used mid-nineties sports bike and I guarantee you'll be more than happy.

I mean, would you be able to push a bike hard enough to use ALL 100BHP on the road? I seriously doubt it, especially with so little experience.

Just my opinion, of course.

even if you're not that experienced you can still use the power for straight line acceleration (which you get a buzz from) but it would take a lot of experience to get the most out of the bike at corners.

Get what you can afford and the bike you really want just take it easy for awhile until you're used to the bike. People say you WILL drop your first big bike but that's untrue if you're somewhat sensible and respect the power between yer legs (easy tiger).

After passing my test i got a 400 bandit as a stepping stone up to a bigger bike, although i thought i would have kept it longer i'm getting a gsxr600 on friday (heard that one before, meh) but i don't plan on going out and ringing it's neck, except maybe in a straight line until i'm used to the way it handles and delivers power.

If you can afford it and you know you'll be sensible on it and respect it i say go for it Thumbs Up

First you are so helpful all

Do not wory about CBR -having 110 hp i can have 1000 hp betwen my legs and control my right hand. Buying used is out of the question if i want somthing il buy it only now or nothing :karma: .

Do not wory i have ~ 20 000 kilometers on bikes until now.

The main thing that ocupies my mind is CBR or ZZR?

Im 99.99 % the CBR is right way, ZZR is justo too old in conception, right? The bike i will buy needs to be a reliable also for few years i do not plan to sell 600 next year maybe after 5 years or so.

Thanks for all help until now and further one

Go Honda if you want guranteed reliability and you are planning to keep it for a while.

They are both capable bikes, but all comes down to your preference.

Just remember buying new you will need to keep up the dealer servicing in order to make anything back when you sell it later on.

Have you ridden both the bikes??? You may hate the CBR, you just never know......

ZZR600 was made to compete with the CBR600. It beat the CBR on top speed, ZZR had a claimed 160 odd, but the CBR was the better handling bike. ZZR now considered more of a sports tourer, but still a sports bike in performance terms. They aren't for the faint hearted. Mid 90's CBR600F's can be picked up quite cheap and aren't short of speed.

Do not worry about servicing intervals i have experience with that. My bikes go regularly to best possible mechanic.

Im still deciding which way i will go CBR or ZZR but i think CBR is the right way. The ZZR is a good bike but it was excellent bike many years ago... Many say that CBR has excellent build quality and perfect last finish just the thing you need from a bike that will be driven >5 years.

The CBR is fuel injected which is a high advantage as i have been told.

Well looks like i have made decision it will be CBR Wink , fell free to change my mind for a few left days or confirm that my decision is right.

Thank you all, you are cool Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Yes you are right but it is not problem for me. I did repair my small bikes my self everything from chain to gearbox and pistons. On big bike i do not plan to do that. Carburators are good for home repair but this is way more better for qualified personnel to fix.

Big bike will go to a real mechanic Smile

Hi

The ZZR was Kawasakis answer to the CBR in about 1990. In a lot of ways it beat the CBR. Far quicker on top speed, alloy frame, decent 4 piston caliper brakes, better build quality, etc. However the CBR moved on but the ZZR barely moved on, with a few updates a couple of years later (hell of a lot of minor changes without changing anything really meaningful).

If you are buying new then the CBR is the better bike. Buying 10 years old and they are both very similar, the ZZR being better in some areas and the CBR better in others.

All the best

Keith

I think a fair few people on here would disagree very much so, a lot of mechainics will bodge things together, skip parts, becuase they are in a rush to get your bike out of the way and move on to the next, if it explodes or you fall of it, its not their problem...

Unless your lucky and have a very good mechanic then dont expect they will make a 100% good job of it.. for this reason theres only very selecet few people i would trust to work on my bike.

That said if you have a car as well (i.e. the bike is for sunny day fun) then its not a big problem to have your bike off the road, mine is all i have, no bike = no going anywhere.

As far as what to get, try them, get a test ride, you might find whichever unrideable for whatever reason, if they wont let you test ride it then go elsewhere, simple as that.

zzr is a great bike, watch out the gearboxes eat themselfs, 40k+ expect problems Sad ...

The paint.

Seriously.

The 600F has been the same bike since 2001. Any changes are so minimal as not to really be of any concern, there certainly haven't been any big changes.
