Hi, i just bought an arrow exhaust for my rs 125 today and I'm fitting it myself. However, i am stuck on how to remove the old exhaust!!

I have taken the side panels off. Do i have to remoe anything else to be able to remove the exhaust?

How do i get the springs off?

Oh and is there anything else i should know or you can tell me which would help me?

Thanks guys

or, coat it in this paint that black, somthing like "high tempreture paint" dont know what its called but make sure you treat it BEFORE you put it on as once its rusty there is a lot less options, baseically none as i found out with a mild steel one on my moped, but that was only a moped so i got over it non my RS!

i see the helpful brigate avoid answerin the questions Laughing

mate take a mole grip of some large grips and take hold of one end of the springs and pull as hard as u can, this shoud mean they come off, do both.

then unbolt the two bolts either side of the exhaust port, i think the arrows has its own mounting, the same gasket can be reused i belive.

while u have the space (and if you have one) its worth cleanin the power valve.

then place all back in place and put the arrows adapter thing on, then the arrow pipe and the new springs

ok i can help you with this one cos i did mine yesterday, unfortunately i didnt have any advise, but it all went well and i had it done in 35minutes, dont bother with the springs, they are too hard top get access to while they are on the bike, plus they are so stiff you could risk pullin the bike over, i nearly did! what you want is a 7mm allen key (i think) with the ball on the end, then get it under the flange where the springs rest on the expansion chamber, then get some form of pipe or a socket screwdriver and slip that on the end of the allen key that isnt in the socket(duh) then prise until it releases, if the engine is hot it should come off easier but if its cold it will take more work as the metal wont have expanded, but if you intend on taking your exhaust off while the engine is hot then your an idiot!

After youve got both sides off you will need to undo the bolt holding the exhaust in place just below the swingarm, oh, i have just thought, i dont have an exhaust hangar but if you do then you will need to take that off before you do anything! so that is step one! now your exhaust should come away with a little bit of jiggling, when its off get some bottle nose pliers(or mole grips as suggested) and pull the springs off, then do all that in reverse to refit, so the order for dissembley is....

Exhaust hangar-Engine mount-Exhaust mount

refit is Exhaust mount- Engine mount- Exhaust Hangar,

Should solve any queries and should be easy enought o do, i did it without any advise and its the first bike ive owner, so ive got no mechanical knowledge, and it still only took me 35minutes, its easy, hard part is trying to get the bolts lined up when your refiting
