Nice wheelie, but I'll put money on that speedo being fake. The scenery isn;t going past anywhere near fast enough. At 200mph he passes a side-road, it crawls by when it should be a blur.

At the end of the run, the rev counter starts falling before the speedo does - yeah right Wink. Watch when it gets down to 100mph. The scenery is dragging by. If that's 100mph I'll eat my hat.

Easily done with a resistor in line on the speedo feed wire. Smile

ive seen that before and apparantly it was a turbo busa. i dont see why it cant do 220 indicated if it has a turbo fitted. however i do agree on the slip roads going by slowly it appears.
still good vid tho Thumbs Up

It is in 6th gear when it tops out, but it does seem to accelerate stupidly quickly - even at 150mph+

TBH if the bike is going 100 mph

100 mph = 44.704 metres/second

at about 100 mph approx 3 lines pass in a second

therefore approx 15 metres for each white line and gap between each white line, seems a little to far for me

Probably gone down a tooth or two on the front sprocket and up a tooth or two on the rear sprocket? I belive that would *fook* your speedo. Smile

Seems insane - but quite realistic as well - the speedo hits its stop when the tacho is reaches around 10k, and then the speedo comes back down after the tacho has passed this mark (hence the lag when the rider throttles back) - the bike's exceeded its indicated 220 and still pulling.

Also the thing about the distance in lines is impossible to measure - looks like it's shot on an American road where the road markings are different. Besides, even in this country, the length of road markings and the distance they are apart changes depending on the road conditions/hazards.

Has anyone noticed how much slower a tank cam looks than how it is in real life? Check out some tank/helmet cams on Isle of Man TT DVDs to see the difference.

Have you seen bikes accelerating at 200mph?

Even those with stupid power don't accelerate massively quickly thanks to rather large amounts of air resistance.

I haven't seen this particular video, but yes, that's very true. Depends on the camera lens and whether or not there's any zoom. Lots of times on police chase video shows on tv the cars seem to be crawling from the dash cams until the camera zooms out a bit and suddenly they're flying.

as we're semi-on the topic of speedos etc..

just how accurate are digital speedos on modern sportsbikes? my mate in his car reckons he was going 10mph faster (accoring to his speedo) than me but from my point of view i was catching him up even though my speedo said i was going 10mph slower. I know cars overread like hell but i was wondering about modern digital speedos.

It's more precise, but no more accurate.
