well it had to happen!

short version
buy bungs!! Rolling Eyes

long version
went for a ride today with davo and andy13_uk upto boxhill, got there was no one about so we went to a cafe along the A25 to kill some time and lost davo on the way! on the way back i met the fateful roundabout! Rolling Eyes
on the approach i thought yeah i'll take this one briskly and see if i get a scrap of the slider, turned in and leaned the bike over and didn't hang off enough to get the knee out to guage the lean, next thing i know the pegs on the ground, then just after i hear the roar of the engine as the back wheel loses traction (see silvers crash vid to hear what i mean) bang on my arse with the bike sliding/spinning next to me. me thinking bugger!
i stop and get straight up and try and get the bike up with andy helping, all this time i'm sniffing as the off as given me a nose bleed, i recon andy thought i was crying in my helmet! Laughing
get it to the side of the road to asses the damage and i'm in shock!
there is hardly anything

Arrow bung grazed
Arrow slight damage on fairing edge
Arrow slight damage in exhaust
Arrow rear brake level snaped
Arrow leathers a bit scuffed

bars and mirrors not even touched!

got the bike on tues and had bungs put on on friday! worked a treat Thumbs Up
the cause of the off is that the peg dug in to a divet on the round about, so i figure that the bike didn't cause the off as nearly all modern bikes have grinding pegs on them, but it was a case of wrong place and the inexperience of riding a new bike as i wasn't hanging off judging the lean angle.
so i feel a bit of a penis but can take solus in the fact i was sensible enough to put bungs on! you live you learn Laughing
in the end looks like a repair bill of £40, hate to think what it would have been other wise! Wink
letter going of to R&G + exhaust and swing arm potectors to come Thumbs Up

Lack of riding skills. Wink

Maybe you should hand that 7r over to someone who can handle it..... You can have something more tame like my 4. Laughing

Glad to see you got off lightly. Smile

No, obviously not a straight swap. Your bike is damaged so you'd have to give me £500 or so aswell. Very Happy

Well you'd have come off even better if you didn't bin it in the first place, but it's a bit late for all that. Razz Laughing

Funny, I had a 40mph lowside a few months back w/ no bungs/sliders on my GSX-R and ended up w/ less damage than you did. Glad you're alright, though. Thumbs Up

fairly heavy, 200 odd KG
could have managed it on my own but was a bit stressed at the time Laughing
would recommend putting the bungs on, you can get someone to drill the holes for you, cost me 20 quid as i haven't got a garage and no proper tools.
