Hi

Metric fine bolts are not easy to find. You can hopefully find them from a decent fastener supplier, but if not you might be reduced to buying an OE part from the bikes maker.

Oh, and asking for a metric bolt with an imperial length might amuse them.

All the best

Keith

Metal wholesalers often have a shop counter that sells odd fastners. I got to a big place in Carlisle called Thomas Grahams, providing you know what you want, they don't object to selling small quantities as they are aware that they are the only place that does them.

I dunno about the imperial/metric thing. A lot of engineers I know freely mix the two. If they learned imperial, they use it for everything except when unavoidable (such as a metric thread). If they were making the bolt on a lathe, they would measure their bit of hex bar in inches then cut a metric thread on it without blinking. (although a mate of mine got irrationally upset when another mate asked him to make a set of studs for his BSA chop with cycle-thread on one side and metric on the other so he could use easily available nuts when they rattled off.)

It is the fine pitch that might be a problem.

All the best

Aye, that is usually what I go there for. I've bought calliper bolts and the big f-off nut that held the clutch basket on my Jawa from there in the past. Also brass nuts the other weekend.

Hi

Took me ages to find some for the Bandit. Could not find a local supplier.

All the best
