well i finally got it repaired (top end, rear tyre, carb cleaned, oil drained/replaced and few other thing) and came to a total of £625.

was not happy as they said it would be £500 mark but i just managed to afford it with money that i had for my test and some spare money for my wages and a loan of £150 from my dad. Very Happy (i love the bank of dad!)

have to run it in AGAIN but for some reason even though i can only go 60mph and its cost me a fortune i still love it! ive just rebooked my thoery and then going to get my test done, then it will be time for me to part with the RS i think, get a 400 or even a 600 if i save hard enough.

it wierd how i still love biking even though all my money recently and over next couple of months is going on it!lol

I have an RS50 and its the same here, I have had to spend £500 ish on the bike to pass MOT, then £350 to insure it, and the cost of buying jacket, lid, gloves, CBT etc. plus selling the TS50 I bought first for a loss of £350 Sad

Still love riding it even if it is damn slow!

good man! Thumbs Up
glad that its sorted but a bit of an arse that it cost £150 more, surely the garage had to ask you before doing the extra work and bumping the bill up! Shocked
hope that your theory and test gets done, and you get yourself a nice 400/600 before the rs goes bang again!
enjoy being on the roads again, and i recon try and learn a bit about your bike so that if it goes pop again then you feel confident to fix it yourself! Thumbs Up

Good to hear that Thumbs Up Pain in the arse that you have to run it in again. Just finished running in my second bike and I felt a right knob having wankers in their people carriers etc overtaking me Crying or Very sad

Just out of interest, how many miles/kilometres had the RS done before things went tits up? Interesting to know for when the same might happen to mine...
