Just search CBR125 on here to see pages and pages of abuse, they're not the best bikes in the world. For £1900 you could do a lot better, and personally I recommend the Hyosung Comet. They look like a 600.

It's a fair price, but consider why the person is selling it so quickly...

It's not about what is wrong with it or what could go wrong, actually I should have been more clear.

Personally, and it's an opinion shared here, I think it's ugly. But each to their own, and fair play.

It's slow. No getting around that. It's a 4 stroke, so it will be slow, and the CBR certainly is.

The build quality is not fantastic. To put it lightly.

That said, the CBR is a suitable commuter, and one which is so new is going to last you a while.

However, when it comes to selling it, don't expect to get much.

If your new to bikes its good learner bike the size and riding postion is easy to learn on and its light so if you drop it you really need help.

+points

reliable
good to learn on
comfortable riding postion
looks good imo

-points

not the fastest but your learning so should be fast enough
can look small next to other bikes

I am quite partial to CBR's. But I dislike the 125! It's very small and bulky.. tires are too thin. Makes it look nasty IMO. It's like the next step up from a MiniMoto. Apparently they aren't the smoothest ride either!

Just to reiterate what I've said before:
It's expensive and slow. One or the other is fine, but both together don't really make sense.

It will depreciate a lot if you actually ride it and put a few miles on it.

Have a look for a second hand bikes like the NS125, RG125, TZR125 and similar, ok examples can be picked up from around a quarter what you would be paying and you'll get a faster bike.

just to add if your buying a newish bike get someone who knows or at least has riden a bike before to take it for a spin, because it might have been thrashed and a new engine that has been thrashed normally has £££££ signs in its future.

Better off with a CG mate. Same performance, looks just as good, and gets good mpg, and can be picked up for half the price of the CBR.

I hate it, it looks so oddly naff. The best 125s i reckon (based on information from others) are the Hyosung Comet (4t), Honda varadero (4t) and Honda NSR (2t)

Both of these share the same 'issues' that the CBR has in my opinion - over priced and underpowered, also both are pretty lardy I believe and he Comet quality isn't supposed to be great.

So what if the cbr is fucking slow. Its a learner bike, and they arent that expensive! I paid £1995 brand new for mine. Its cheaper than any other brand new 125's. Yes its a small bike, and yes its slow. But when your learning who give a flying fuck. Its a bloody good learner and its an alternative to the ugly as fuck cg. Id rather spend a couple of extra 100 quid for a nicer looking bike than the cg. Ill be arsed about speed once ive past my bloody test.

Could do alot fucking worse than a cbr.

Well done mate for buying one.

yeh your right.. and 75 mph is GOOOD enough for me .. because in my area there arent much roads you can go faster than that on. its a nice looking bike .. sound better than a 2 stroke Smile insurance was quite cheap £500 3rd party fire and theft . i will use this as a learner bike and pass my test asap and then worry about speed

I personally wouldn't buy them. It is just that they are probably the best 4-stroke learners around. Most are little cramped rollerskates like the cbr, but the varadero and comet have a nice size for lanky gits like me.

Yeah maybe they're not the fastest but, at Traffic light Grand Prix, they shit on nearly all cars up to 40 mph. Living round the Centre Of Manchester ( Blackely) i dont need a speed demon, i need something economical and reliable and thats what the cbr is. It'll do 80 mph tops but most of my riding involves no speed greater than 60!

WOW

When i first got my 125, i had a CG brand new. Never ridden a bike before, no car license and in a dodgy as hell area.

I thought i was getting ripped off when i paid £175 TPFT.

Now 3 years, still on CBT 1 total loss theft claim and 1 years NCB £98.

The bike also does 130MPG

Skimmed this post so apologise if this was answered already.
