You need a chain splitter/riviter.

Thanks for that, I think I can get hold of one today.

A couple more questions -

1. Is there a certain way round the chain has to go on, or doesnt it matter?

2. Is there anything else I have to make sure of/do or something to watch when I do it. I have already fitted the new sprokets, and know I have to tighten the chain when I put it on.

Thanks, Kurt

It doesn't matter what way round the chain goes! the only other thing is make sure you rivet the chain properly and give it a good lubing once your done.

If you've got a riveter fitting the chain is very very easy, 10 minutes and you'll be done.

Your chain should come pre-lubricated. And it will probably slacken off a bit quite quickly before settling down

Thanks for all the help people. The chain is pre lubed but when I put it on I will give it a damn good seeing to with some more chain lube Smile

I'll check it and adjust it every few miles too.

Most (99%?) bigger bike chains need rivetting. It's stronger.

My Hayabusa had this kind of chain, don't think you get much bigger.

Cut the old chain off with a hacksaw, put the new 1 on with a split link. Job done. Cool
