It looks like you've put alot of hours in there Thumbs Up nice one.

Can I be dumb, and ask what the whole carbon thing is about? I mean, does it actually do something to your machine, or is it just meant to look like it does something to your machine, or is it just like, grey Question

Hiya,

I wasn't being offensive when I asked (I wasn't just meaning 'whats it about to you') I just meant generally, what is the whole carbon thing about (in like, a big wide world kinda way...)

I'm guessing that carbon (actual carbon, not stickers that look like carbon) is really beneficial? and probably expensive, therefore everyone wants it..... Question

it don't do anything for me, but I like to see anyones machine when they've obviously put alot of time and effort into it..

It keeps em off the streets Wink

It may only be a ped, but you're one of the few ped riders who knows how to take theirs apart, most don't know how to change a lightbulb. Thumbs Up

I love messing with engines. I think if you ride/drive you should learn basic mechanics at least that way you might be able to diagnose (sp) the proplem trust me alot of the time its sume thing really lame.

Nothing wrong with some good old elbow grease.

May be a ped, but everybody needs to crawl before they walk.

All the best with the rest of the work, and don't forget to post a "completed" picture.

Thumbs Up

in AS pysics i did a Coursework on the beifits of carbon fibre in many applications. i could sent it to you but its bit long and wordly but basically its good because:
Arrow compared to a sample of other material of same wieght its very strong (esp tension)
Arrow car be made in many different ways so can be extra strong legthways and not that stong across for a application where it needed strength in just 1 plane (direction)
Arrow for its looks somtimes
Arrow doesnt corrode at all
Arrow formed into any shape so dont need to glue sections together making weak points

Resons why it isnt that good for some applications
Arrow Extremly hard/impossible to repair
Arrow really bad for envoirnment (lots of energy used to make it and cant be recycled)
Arrow More expensive to use than say stainless steel (if strength wasnt a major issue and steel would do just as good a job)

im sure ive missed a few other points but that the major reasons for using it in modern day socialty. is very usefull in some cases though.

For bike panels you save some weight so better acceration but as far as i know its many for the look! Thumbs Up

If I wanted a ped, I'd want one like yours. Nice one. Well done. It looks smart.

As it is, I've got a piece of shit that I love riding and haven't had to do anything to it since I owned it, and I love rattling through the ped boys when they ride in a gang (knowing they can't catch me!!)
