I was wondering what peoples opinions were on all-weather outdoor bike covers?

Are the Oxford Stormex ones the best/ worth the money?

I've used an Aquatex one the last few months, but it leaves alot of moisture on the bike if its been raining, and the bikes gonna be out all winter Sad so I need protection.

It's also a weird shape with it being a Vulcan (ultra-sexy shape I mean Cool ) so I need something thats going to fit well, and not blow about like a hanky in a fart factory

Thanks. Smile

Does it have like a second lining inside to protect the paintwork? or is it just a single skin?

I think ideally it would have to be a heavy duty nylon outer, with a softer protective layer inside ...like the stormex lol

I use one of the big oxford jobbies to cover mine.
Heavy and rip proof-ish.
But the strap-it-onto-me that it comes with is shite. Only ties under her midrif. Not sufficient I think.
It still blows about like A hoor's knickers in a thunderstorm.

I got my Aquatex one from Hein thingy, it's been ok, but the cats round here (grr) have ripped the front to shreds, and on occasion have managed to get under it and sleep on the seat (ginger fur evidence at the scene - they'd be crap trying to pull off a heist)

I have got the Honda Outdoor cover for my baby. So far very good in heavy rain and high winds. Also breathable so the bike dries off underneath it. Thumbs Up

FYI there is a problem with the pdf, acrobat cannot read document Confused

Regarding covers I've heard the Oxford Stormex ones are really worth having. I've been meaning to get one. I think they come up on eBay for reasonable (rather than shop price silly) money.

FWIW I use the Tyvek cover that's a bit like a space blanket. I've no complaints with this cover. Hasn't ripped or torn and the lining hasn't scratched the bike. The only thing I wish it had was more/better points to secure it down with. Hein Gericke sell (or certainly used to) these. Images are in this thread - click link.

HTH Thumbs Up
