New Fazer!

After my spill in May on my Fazer I finally got in resolved yesterday by part exchanging my old (2003) Fazer for a brand new one. It had 0.2miles on the clock!!

First impressions are positive - it seems much lighter than the old Fazer and consequently more manouverable. The ride is much firmer - but thats becuase everything is new - although the seat is harder. The front brakes seem to have less bite, but I reckon that's because they are still bedding in - although the back brake has a lot of stopping power. The suspension seems good and acceleration as you'd expect from a 600cc engine. It has fuel injection so no choke!! Also when you decelarate the MPH's seem to drop off much quicker. The gear shift is much much smoother - although the position of the gear lever has changed a little. Tomorrow is the acid test - my usual commute - filtering - stop start etc. In conclusion it feels very different from the last one, which was similar in 'feel' to the first Fazer.

I think it's just you, me and Adam so far.

Mine's my first big bike, so I've got little to compare it too, but I love it to bits. I actually find it easier to commute on than my Aerox 100, which surprised me somewhat.

Hope it doesnt let you down! I was thinking of buying an fz6 post test, but i heard some bad reviews. Guess i'll just leave it to test rides when i eventually get round to my license. What colour you got it in?

It's a grey one with quite a lot of black. Looks good - very clean at the moment but will be filthy by January!!

Well done headlamp, at last, someone buying a commuter 600 and going for the best choice! Wink

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you hand over for it? Be interested to know as mine was pre-regged but brand new out of the crate, be a good comparrison. What reg is it?

Enjoy it. Once you've got it run in (600 miles, which you'll do easily) you'll too notice that there's sod all power below 10 grand! Laughing

Headlamp - you should find commuting a breeze. I've done nearly 3000 miles on my new Fazer in a few months (including daily commuting) and it's ideal for the job.

As Adam_P says, you'll notice the difference after you've run it in and start using the mid/ upper power band. Thumbs Up

I have one too although a friend is borrowing it at the moment as i have a triumph sprint st aswell. One of the first things i did was get braided hoses and it made massive difference to the brakes. They are so sharp now compared to standard. Cool

Hi , went out this weekend and included a quick stop at Squires. I obviously heard loads of bikes and a few fazers take off. They sounf so smooth and quiet next almost everything else, even other fours with standard cans.

And it's gotta be my helmet that is really loud becuse at anything over 30-40 I can't hear the engine unless I really go for it (which mean's I'm speeding! Wink

)

and one more thing, I tried to get a feel of the power but its all over 8000revs.. so that means it's legally inaccessible apart from in 1st gear! (maybe 2nd a bit if on the m'way)
