Picture the scene. Its 5.30pm on a friday night. You leave work, knowing its the beginning of the weekend. Your off to go see your partner straight from work, you've got a lovely night planned, and the very thought of it has got you through the day at work.

You get leathered up, jump on the bike, roll it forward, but wait! Bikes feeling extremely heavy, to the point where I cant move it! Now either I've become extremely weak, or someones attached a lead weight to it!

Alas, I was wrong. Looked down to see my rear tyre flat as a pancake. Gutted. Called the RAC, told it'll be anything up to an hour. Great, all i need on a friday night! However, 15 mins later, they turned up! Well impressed! Was a huge nail dead centre in the middle of the tread. They did some patch job with some sort of gel, told me not to go above 50mph and it'll be good for 250 miles.

This is my second such puncture in less than a year. Gonna have to buy my 3rd tyre in the space of a year and a bit, not good!!!! Sad

This happened to me on my CBT, I went over a nail but the tyre went flat in a matter of seconds, all I felt was the ped dragging and fishtailing!

They stopped it and called out their van, shoved me and it in the back and back to the centre for a new bike. Only all they had was the guys spare scooter, which was quite heavily modified, good for 60mph! Talk about strange, after riding a restricted scoot all day. The funny thing was, the instructor kept telling me to go faster on the bigger roads, even though I'm not allowed to and the other guys ped was restricted! Rolling Eyes

Bad luck with the tyres mate, nails on roads is gay.

bad luck mate, i know exactly how you feel.

went out on the bike last month and thought it felt odd going into bends

got home and heard a hissing, fekking bastard nail!!!

i manged to get mine plugged, just as well as a fair few miles left on the tyre

very frustrating to say the least

Bought a new tyre Wed £118.
Thought "I'll call them and ask them to put the sure seal in again."
"Nah. It'll be OK for a couple of days."
So wrong. 1 day later carpet tack in new tyre.
Bad enuf. No probs, bought a tube of 'Slime' tyre sealant. Used it before, great stuff.
Pulled into Shell service station to the air/water machine.
Pulled out the valve core on the nailed tyre. Pulled out the nail.
Put the slime into the deflated tyre.
Put the valve core back in the tyre.
Picked up the tyre airline.
NO FUKIN guage or valve adapter on the line.
Arrrrrgggg.
I'm now worse off because I went to a petrol station.
No sign on the machine to say it's bust.
Pushed the heavy basta*d next door to kwick-fit.
The chap in the shop fixed me up with air. Phew....
Kwick fit, you can't get better than..

Sure seal is about £22 per fit per tyre.
Never get a puncture and if you do it's sealed before you know it so for safety it's benificial.

Any idea how much this is? I take it this is not what Mr RAC man did then? All I saw him do was remove the nail, stuck a chisel-type implement in the hole to smooth it, then put like a plastic cork/plug type thing and stuck some gel on it Confused
