Seen it before but the more I watch it the more it confuses me. I've seen sharper turns on the motorway! Question Exclamation

Hi

Whole bike wobbles just as he turns in. Wonder if he had a front wheel blowout.

Or it is just a fake.

All the best

he might just have hit something on the road, and lost traction on the rear tyre for a second, lucky he didnt highside, but it seems to have been enough to shock him, and he then made the mistake of letting his body take over by trying to put his feet down and keep the bike upright, if he hadda leaned in to the left, he woulda missed the wall no problems.

i think Laughing

How do you propose a professional video editer does that? Looks fairly genuine to me, as you can see, he just clicks down/up a gear before the wobble, and has put down a little too much power, letting the clutch out, probably trying to make a knee down for the camera. Rolling Eyes

Why did he pull the clutch right in before anything happened? could of been a tyre problem as already mentioned, may have felt a twitch or something that made him soil himself.

Looks like he may have dropped the gear too soon, making the back end chatter, then shit himself and got a severe case of target fixation.

Looking at it again he did downshift to accerlerate round the corner.

If he stayed in the saddle and controlled it, it could've been a sweet powerslide round the corner Thumbs Up Cool

Looks like a new rider too - I notice he didn't shift his body position either as he approached the corner.

Especially as he did not go flying over the wall.

All the best

OUCH! He changes down a gear before the corner which maybe locked the rear? After that though i dunno why the back end then wobbles Confused And if he'd have looked around the bend and not at the wall he could easily have made that corner!

Tell me then...why do you have to shift your body position when you approach a corner?

There's no tyre mark or smoke so I doubt he locked up by shifting down. I'd say he more like lost the backend on some gravel, as it's a loose hillside with grit at the bottom of it.

He spun the rear wheel, shat it and then focused on the wall rather than trying to steer clear of it. You all know yourself, if you look where your going thats where your going to go. He was looking at the wall and then BANG!

Well, if you drop down a gear and accelerate, obviously it takes more effort to lean the bike under acceleration, hence hanging off the bike a bit.

Maybe it's just me then.

My vote is that he messed up an attempt to blip the throttle, causing that little back end slide that you see, just missed the high side and ended up upright and offline.

Must be, hanging off has no effect on how quickly a bike can steer.

Try telling a police rider that.

You may also want to look at that japanese police point to point.

And also this ZZR chap was not on a race circuit so racing techniques have little relavance, the idea of hanging off on track is to gauge angle from what I gather, not anything to do with quick steering.

...on bikes too bulky to hang off even if they wanted to. Not that they could anyway. I could just imagine the public outcry if a police rider was scraping his knee on bend. Bit like a police car power sliding out of a turn! Laughing

What is quick is quick, end of. A good technique doesn't become a bad one, just because of a change of scenery (whether it's safe or not is an entirely different argument).
