1994 RVF400RR For Sale

https://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y51/whers84/DSC00631.jpg

After much deliberation, I'm selling my bike. It cost me £3,500 from a dealers in January and I've spent so much more since, both in time and money, getting it to its current spec:

Double bubble light tinted screen
Stainless bar ends
Renthal hard compound race grips
HRC Resevoir cover
Austrian hand made carbon fibre air ducts
Red anodised fork preload adjusters
Motrax speedo convertor/speedo derestrictor
Motrax carbon fibre woven tank pad
Pyramid single seat cowl, colour matched to original paint
Dunlop decals
Tyga stainless exhaust hanger
One off carbon fibre can(marked Termignoni)/TSR stainless steel half system
112.5 jets
Air holes drilled to 2.5mm
HRC Cdi
Goodridge 3 line braided hoses kit
CBR600RR front callipers with Nissin sintered brake pads
Vesrah sintered rear brake pads
Stainless bolts used throughout (non stressed areas)
Goodridge banjo bolt rear brake switch
NWS Carbon fibre rear hugger
Renthal RS3 gold o-ring chain and hardened sprocket kit
Black anodised brake resevoir cap
Carbon Fibre Clock Surround
White powder coated wheels
Clear Indicator Lenses
Craig S. (TM) Clean.

Rigorously serviced with some history, including pricey top end service 5,000 miles ago. MOT, Tax, Manual, some service history and paddock stand included. Everything on the bike is in exceptional condition and working order. Currently sporting Michellin Pilot Race tyres, but also have a spare set of GPR70/80 combo tyres aswell. Pillion provisions also supplied.

I'm in no immediate rush to sell, but would welcome any sensible offer to take the bike off my hands. I'd also consider part exchange.

Please PM me, or email me at [email protected] if you're interested. Based in Sussex.

What is making you sell ? All that work - you must be said to see it go.

Any ideas on what you'll get to replace it?

Good luck on the sale Thumbs Up

It hasn't been an easy decision to make at all, but my reason for selling is that I feel I've done what I've wanted with the bike. There's still plenty that I can think of that I could do to the it, but I'm interested in progressing to something a little different - I've been riding 400s for 5 years, I had an NC30 for 18 months - so I've kind of owned a V4 400 for nearly 3 years now. I sometimes show a few signs of being a perfectionist Embarassed and I don't usually realise/am proud of the work that I've done; it's always a case of what I haven't done, or if I've left a mark uncleaned somewhere Rolling Eyes

As for my next bike, I'd really like to restore an original Blade. But I will consider quite a few bikes for part exchange; depends what comes along really.

Just out of interest - a hypothetical question.

How much would you charge to give a bike a proper clean?

lol, one of my 'proper' cleans takes months. I haven't really thought about it on an hourly basis; if something needs cleaning, it's cleaned. Then the surrounding parts look a bit grubby; so they're cleaned as well. It's funny to think that when I first bought the bike all I thought of doing to it was a quick clean and a new set of tyres....

If I had a more modern bike that just required a decent fairing off wash, brush and degrease I wouldn't think more than a couple of hours. Not sure if that could be worked into an hourly rate; it's not my line of profession. Although I wasn't impressed with the extent of the previous owner's (a dealer) valet service....

I was just enquiring - even though I don't have a bike at the moment.

There have been times where I would have been very willing to pay someone to give my old bike a proper good clean.

Tell you what, I'll swap you my ZXR and you can get that up to the same spec.

lol, I'm looking to diverge away from 400s unfortunately - I will consider bikes as an exchange though.

Might be a bit of a long shot, but would anyone consider a bike trade rather than a sale. I'm still undecided between an early Blade (to restore), an R6 (the sensible upgrade), a GSXR750 SRAD (to turn into a Stalker rep. circa BSB 2000), a few others spring to mind....

Sorry, can't divulge that information.

Will welcome any offers and obviously bids to the auction for anyone who's interested.

Now SOLD! My God, what have I done......?

Only joking, got a bit of money to play with now (or atleast a healthy deposit, rest of cash to follow next week).

(Sorry for anyone who was bidding on Ebay, but I did include that if I was to get a good offer, I'd reserve the right to sell privately before the end of the auction)

lol, of course it was worth alot more than what I got for it, very difficult to even come to the decision of selling it, let alone doing the deed. Only got the bike for 2 and a half hours now, better give it a clean.
