in putting my RS up for sale (was meant to be tonight) and before taken the pics i though (like most people) that id give it a good clean/polish. i ended up spending 1hour or so on it and didnt relise how much nicer it looks when you polish it (havnt done it in ages)

the best bit was when i finish and wheeled it backwards to the garden to get enough light for the pics the camera was broke Twisted Evil was so annoyed!

the point is how many of you clean it in the winter? i know as soon as i take it out its only going to get exactly how it was before i cleaned it! you think its worth it? (and yes i ride it more than i clean it before anyone says it.lol)

if you give it a real good clean till its spotless then just a once over every couple of days it should stay looking pretty good without much effort. more regular/rigorous cleans will be needed once the grit/salt starts to get spread on the roads.

that would take forever if i cleaned it everytine i used it, just seems pointless as 9/10 i use it at the moment it rains at some point in the day when bike is a college/work.

fairings off must take a while! i thought a hour was a long time to clean a bike!

not that long...can strip all the fairings off in 15 minutes, cleaning can take as long as you like tbh...if i have nothing to do i will happily spend all day cleaning my bike, but usually i class a thorough clean as a couple of hours.

Scottoiler FS365 genourously.

Polish the bike and use this autoglym siliconce based sealent over that.

This means that you dont get water marks all over the paint when it gets wet and you can hose the crap off the paint and it still looks nice once the water has dried off and left no marks.

You should only need to do this once a week at most.

The scottoiler get a rag and soak the rag and wipe this over all your swingarm, forks, wheels etc and spray it on rear suspension and engine etc.

This needs to be done often but it means you can wash your metal bits often and leave your paint for a week using the autoglym super silicone based polish stuff.

The RD gets dirty a few days of washing it! Got to the point where I can't be arsed to clean the damn thing. Think cleaning it on a friday afternoon is going to be a regular thing though as she looks lovely after being cleaned.
