I went into my local aprilia dealers the other day to get some information on the RS 125 for my friend and was told tha a new RS is being developed, the only thing i know is that it is a completely new bike.

Some features are:

New Frame
New Engine
New Bodywork Designs
Underseat Exhausts

Thats as much as i know, don't know if any of you guys and gals know any more about this, sounds like the aprilia is going to look better than ever after this.

Sounds promising, i just wish my mate would make his mind up.

One day he wants the RS then he wants a car then he'll go back to wanting the RS.

He thinks he will wait until the new one i described to come out before he gets one.

I agree McGee the price would come tumbling down after the new one comes out.

I also heard that aprilia are planning to release a new bike in every class, Sports 600 version of the RSV anyone?

600 RSV???? I want one.

Hopefully I will have passed my test by then. Might get one, but will need to find a mortgage to finance it first. lol

Hi

Hope it is something new and good. However I have a horrible feeling that it will just be a Derbi GPR125 with a different paint job.

All the best

About time they re-designed it, the design from 99 to date is horrid, So bad infact I was going to get a Supercity instead until the dealer found some brand new 98 ones.

Some RS125 owners are funny people, I bet if the GPR was brought out as a RS125 (and the GPR was never released etc) you'd all be raving about how great it looks.

I reckon they'll do it quite closely to the RSV, Which is good and bad, Good for the RS125 owners riding mini RSV's but bad for the RSV owners being mistaken for riding a 125 (untill they hear it)

Until they hear it?

People tend to hear wayyyyyyyy before they see it, so that wouldn't be a problem.

i suspose as laws are getting tighter on emmisions, they do have quite a monopoly on 2ts 125cc as about the only poeple still selling them, as the RS250 stop being made i guess they could be heading that way

could turn out like NSR125--> CBR125 (great to not that great)

lets hope not! Thumbs Up

I'd sell your gsxr for one of those mate. Laughing

Would have to be an IL4 though, I can't imagine how it would sell, as it'd be underpowered and more expensive than something like a sv650. No fears of a rsv ever being mistaken for a 125. You'd have to be a fool to think a 125 would have a 190 rear section on it. Laughing

I doubt it. Whilst they might base it around the design of an RSV, how could they slash an £8k bike to around £3k and retain the sort of quality the RSV has? Obviously there are considerably better bits on the RSV desides the engine, other things will take a hit, they will be easily distinguisable I bet.

if all bikes change to 4t. will the maximum capacity of the engine go up? like at 16 you can ride a 70cc 4t, and at 17 a 150cc 4t?

Hi

Doubt it as you can easily get 11kW (the learner limit) from a 125cc 4 stroke.

All the best
