Like a very loud 'ticking' kind of nose coming from the front of the bike, the radiator it sounds like. It first starts after i've been riding about 5/10 mins, whenever I stop.... if I rev it gently, sometimes the ticking noise stops, other times it doesn't. Weird..... Thinking

I pretty sure these Gixers had a know issue with the cam-chain (some had to be returned for fixing) . Not sure if what you have is a symptom of the chain failing.

I doubt it's the valves. Anything loose around in there? Have a look.

How many miles on the bike? If it only starts tapping when warm, it could be valve clearances. These should be checked at 16k miles and again at 32k miles.

Cheers

when was your last piston change ? do you know that every 7500 miles you need to de-carbonize the top-engine and :
- 7500 miles rings exchange
-15000 piston exchange
it seems that your piston is worn and you must feel a loss of power , remember the nsr has a special coat in the barrel which is far more harder than the rings and piston .

Hi, may sound a little stupid but i had a gsxr 600 in for repair the other week because he had a rattle coming from the engine and thought it was cam chain, but all it turned out to be was loose exhaust downpipes rattling around at the mounting points Thumbs Up have a look at yours, Dan
