I'll be getting a tinted visor when me old wallet allows, for those lovely days where you can see jack shizzle.
What do you use for what occasion and under what conditions.
What are the advantages and disadvantages in your oppinion?

Well dark ones aren't ideal for night time riding. |

Tinted for any gloriously sunny days, anything else, a clear visor with a hyperopticks insert.
Iridium, nah, I wouldn't bother, the finish goes after a while I hear. |

I use a really dark black visor for most of the summer, an Iridium as the sun gets weaker and then a clear for night/ shite weather.
I always carry the clear with me though, never been pulled on the bike so don't know if it would help from a plod point of view , I do know that it's 'kin difficult trying to ride quickly at night with a black visor though....open or closed .
I probably don't need the Iridium really, just fancied one and it is a lesser tint than the black, I swear by the black one though, so much better than sunglasses and lets be honest, if you go through a tunnel it's a lot easier to lift a visor than to take off sunglasses on the move |

I usually use an Iradium visor, but now it is getting dark early, and the weather aint so good, i have got my clear one fitted again. The iradium is better than black ones, they look better and when you look through them hey are muck clearer. ____________________ Zhongyu ZY50, Aprilia SR50, Motorhispania RX50, Aprilia RS125, Honda VFR400 nc24 and my corsa

I mostly use the black tinted visor. It's good for sunny days and when you don't want people to see you, I also think it looks cool . I wanted to buy a mirrorized visor but damn you can't see jack with those! ____________________ Kawasaki ZZR 400 | K5 GSX-R 600 |

My helmet has a flip down half tint visor.
Not dark enough, planning on getting a really dark normal visor next summer. ____________________ Go back to bed - You have no rights - "Streetfighters ~ Mainstream motorcycling's crackwhore sister." |

My own personal experience, get a black visor!
I have 2 lids, my HJC AC10 and my KBC AR1, both of which have not road legal visors.
The Black AC10 visor has better colour definition, in the sense that everything is tinted by simply transmitting less light as you would expect from wearing sunglasses.
The KBC AR1 has a blue irridium visor, which on the inside is coated with a yellow substrate. Consequently anything white will appear yellow so it's bloody darn hard to see at twilight, where most people get caught out. Only got mine because it was 10 quid at the show, and i had a blue lid, which unfortunately didn't have black visor as an option, only irridium.
You may look cool thinking you've got an irridium visor, but in my honest opinion, save youself the money and get the plain black. It's much safer. Besides, i heard that some irridium visors had such a bad colour shift that it was considererd the main contributor to a fatality!
Also, stay away from those shitty visor inserts. ____________________ The Tot 2019 Z1000SX - 2007 R1

I used to have visor inserts...waste of money, so just stick with my clear visor and shades. If I wore a black visor everyone would think I had cold sores! ____________________ 1st bike - Honda Rebel; 2nd bike - CBR125; next bike - husband's 'blade hehehehe
