PostPosted: 17:25 - 29 Nov 2005    Post subject: A cager moved my parked bike Reply with quote

Went to school this morning and parked in one of the bays on the road next to the school. As i always do. When I came out at lunch, 4 ish hours later, my bike was no longer in the bay, it had been wheeled out towards the road (the steering lock was on). So my bike was now illegally parked, on a solid white line, also blocking someones driveway, with the bike edged on to the road. A merc hatchback had squeezed into the space.

I think the car is owned by a students parents (student drives it) so i reported it to the school. Just wondering what my rights are with this situation, because it cant be legal for somebody to move my vehicle.

Cheers, Nick

someone tried to move by 250 scooter too, but it had a disc lock on, so they just jammed the disc lock against the fork

as its 160kg, i dont think they fancied lifting it out the way

you should of put a lock on it (like a chain around the wheel so flap around or chained to post) this teach them a lesson or wited for them to return (could take a while)

you know the owner? if you have a massive go at them, well out order!

not sure your rights but sound like you need an alarm!lol

Find out how it is and if possible crane it in to an inaccessible location.

Or just speak to the person. If that doesnt work then speak to the school, claiming they have tampered with your motorcycle and it could lead to a fatal accident. Also inform the person who did it of this, and if they proceed you will contact the police. Threaten them with something ridiculous like attempted manslaughter.

If that all fails let down all his tyres and he will have a nice hefty bill and the inconvenience of getting towed.

Even if you leave your bike in gear when you park it till you get a disc lock. Most people are too dumb to work it out.

Find out who's car it is, and if he is in your school and you are bigger than him lol, tell him not to bother touching it again.

Cant think of any legal rights, you would need to talk to the police to see what they say.

Very Very good, will do this tommorrow. Thumbs Up

Even if i did stick a lock around the bike, its only light (110kg~) so it can easily be lifted.

Report the little cocksucker to the police. Wouldn't bother complaining to the school, they'll do fuck all other than take sides with the cocksucker.

Or just let their tyres down.

Thing is i can't prove he was the one who moved it, i will see tommorow.

I expect that the whole arguement that i'm shouldnt park there will come up. As there is no designated places for motorbike i park where ever theres a space. A few months ago i had a women complaining that i shouldnt take up a whole space (there are other ped's) and more recently i had some guy complaining about parking in spaces. Fuck 'em i pay my road tax.

I had someone move my bike yesterday. He did no damage and I thinkhe thought it was ok because he is a biker too. It just annoys me. It's my fecking property so don't fecking touch it. He also moved it onto a big pile of wet leaves Evil or Very Mad Earlier the same person had said to me "I have a bike too but it's much bigger" should have expected something dumb from him. Sorry, rant over *hands topic back to Nick.H*

How would they feel if you moved the car to park your bike? In effect they have taken your property without your consent regardless of how far away they moved it. If you are parking in a free space, why should they tell you you can't park there? As you say, you pay your road tax

I would speak to the owner/driver of the car. Regardless of whether or not you were supposed to be in the parking bay or not, they should not have touched your vehicle.

Under these circumstances you have the right, if not the absolute DUTY to smear dog shit under their door handles.

On a more sensible note. If they were pushing your bike they were 'in control' of it (as any copper will explain at great length to kids they find pushing a field bike along the road). If you are in control of a vehicle on a public highway, you have to be insured.

Their car insurance covers them third party on other vehicles providing the vehicle is already covered by another insurance policy and they have the owners permission to use it.

Just a thought for a line of attack.

l would of slashed his tyres or keyed the car but thats me.

A few years ago some pikey builder working in the factory next to the one l was working in dragged my NSR125RR which had front and rear disk locks on 10m down the road so he could park his van in my motorbike bay which l have been using every day for the past year.

Got the cunt back but chucking his tools in a aerosol test bath out side the factory that was getting shipped to russia the following day. Twisted Evil

https://www.saundersonsecurity.co.uk/acatalog/triangle_clamp_b.jpg

Yours for only £69 inc VAT and Delivery.

On a side not I had my GSXR 600 moved in a very busy college car park by a car driver. I only realised this when I came to start the bike at lunch time and although never realised it had been moved initially it wouldnt start - the alarm had run the battery completely flat. A couple of techies at the college (I was staff) took my battery and charged it for me using a frightening contraption they cooked up in 5 minutes. I got my own back by going through proper channels and the owner of the car (an up-his-own-arse academic) got a written warning and had to apologise in both writing and in person.

If I hadn't have been staff I would probably have been inclined to do something funnier. For example jacking the car up and removing all the wheels and stacking them neatly in a pile next to the car.

Stinkwheels idea is very good. No license - insurance - helmet etc.

I think its illegal to clamp without a licence now though, so may get you in trouble.

I would be so pissed off if someone tried moving my bike. I can't imagine how angry I would be if someone dropped it, for the sake of walking an extra 5 yards Evil or Very Mad

I believe it is also illegal for someone to move your bike, they have inconvenienced you so do it right back to them. They don't need to know it was you who did it...

I'm just a stroppy mare and very possessive of what's mine. I would have wiped the floor with the ignorant shit. However, probably not the best move if you're not 100% sure of who it is! Do NOT, under any circumstances, let them do it again and if they do, report it

A few years ago there was a case of someone getting charged for TWOC'ing a vehicle for exactly the same kind of thing. Report them to the police.

Failing that next time leave it in gear and put a lock on there.
