I would imagine its a nightmare if you have a brand new Fireblade

You slide the stand under the swingarm, then with one hand you stand the bike upright, and push down on the stand so it rotates the bike off the ground.

Bit tricky on your own but once youve done it a few times its quite routine

The single-sided ones are easy as they're slotted inside the rear wheels hub - very stable.

I shit myself nearly evey time I do it.
It's easy when you've got the knack. Have someone with you for the first few times you try it just incase the bike loses balance.

I thought sod that for a game of soldiers, so bought myself a trolley jack and acquired a pile of bricks. Does the trick for both ends.

I put my k3thou on paddock stand regular by myself. Make sure you get the bobbin's and hook type(if you can fit bobbin's on your bike)

Help's if you put the pillion seat on then you can grab the bike by it stand the bike up level(stand on the right hand side leave the sidestand down) OH yeah leave it in gear to. then line the hooks up and push down on the stand.

On lighter bikes, ie my NSR, I put a block of wood under the sidestand to level the bike, then steady it by the grabrail while lifting it with the paddock stand.

I attempted the same with the SV, but it bent the paddock stand as the weight wasn't distributed properly.

Piece of piss to be perfectly honest with you.

On my Srad, which is neither the smallest or lightest bike around you simply leave the bike on its side stand and place the left hand side of the stand under the left side of the swingarm. Simply apply pressure and the bike will stand itself up making contact with the right hand side of the swingarm. Now that the bike is upright just apply pressure and it will rise into the air.

The hairy part is getting it down the first time, just have a little bit of faith that it will rest on the stand and you'll be fine.

I stick my yzf750 on the paddock stand on my own, its a piece of piss & thats with a 195kg bike.
The bike has bobbins on the swing arm, & the stand has adaptors that hang down.
I only use the bobbins if i'm taking the back wheel out. For general day to day use I run a 10mm bar thru the rear axle, supported at each end by the stand. (see pic).

i have at the min one that gos on the swing arm, but these wreck the paint so dont get one ....

for x-mas am getting some bobbins and a stand to fit them much easer
