Don't know of any tracks that do, but you can get them from somewhere like Lady Snoots ( https://www.ladysnootsltd.co.uk/ ) who will drop it off and collect it, or Focused Events ( https://www.focusedevents.co.uk/ ) if you do the day through them.

Hi

Other option is one of the race schools such as the Ron Haslam one at Donington.

All the best

Few do the gear to ride, (though the race schools do), personally I definitely would not want to use 'hired' gear.
For leathers and helmet, one of the most important factors is the fit. If they are a poor fit they can even cause injuries as the armour moves around, could also help cause an accident if they are too tight.
I presume you have your protective equipment to help save your body from injury? If so I would use it for that.

As for the bike, providing you take it easy and get faster progressively rather than trying to imitate rossi on your first lap, you should be fine.
Remember, there are no cars coming the otherway, infact no cars at all. No white lines, everyone should be a to-some-degree similar pace, you'll be doing the same 10 or whatever corners a lot of times that day - so basically, if you take it easy to start with, you should be fine.
Expect to pay around £200 for bike hire, more if it's an odd track/time with around a £300 crash deposit.

If they're expensive, that should be because they are good quality, though in some cases it's just because they've got a specific logo on them.

So, how much do you value your head at?

Indeed. I'd rather be moaning about having to go to the local dealers and fork out £400 on another Arai, than lying in a hospital bed with a severe head trauma due to an ill-fitting, rented non-descript Taiwanese brand helmet.

I've had a couple of track day spills. If you've got good equipment it's not a problem. I'm still using the same boots and leathers. The scuff marks mean everyone gives me a wide berth on the track Laughing Laughing

Chris, if you still are waiting to do your test, I would not worry about a track day just yet.

I would suggest Rapid Training would be the first thing to do before track after passing the test. A fantastic day and they will teach you fast riding on the road. Ex police trainers / track racers and they allow you to ride as if in the real world (I ride a Gixxer Thou and could not lose the instructor - he was an ex racer and Nurbergring teacher for 10 years). It you can get a buddy along on the same day, it is also much cheaper than a trackday.

Look here

I have done it and loved it. I also do approx 15 track days a year, and think I know what I am doing.
