The clutch is slipping quite bad now on the nc30,but before i go out and buy new plates and springs is there any thing i could tighten or adjust before doing it ?
I've altered the clutch lever, but still happening.
Its got the right oil in it,as my brother put the wrong stuff in his vfr750 and it slipped like hell with new plates ! Doh !

Do i need to get a honda tool to get the plates off , or is there another way around that too ?

Any info would be great ! Thumbs Up

Just get a new clutch and stop being a tight arse! Wink

Drain the oil out, take the clutch cover off, its usually 10mm bolts to undo the clutch plate, remove it, then remove all the metal and friction plates and replace.

I always dip the new plates in some oil before I put them on too.

Job done.

Thumbs Up

N as he said above dip the plates in oil as you put them in the basket Smile n personally speaking i would do a oil change about 200 miles after changing plates just to get any crap out as ive had a few sets of clutch plates drop random bits into my engine before not long after puttin them in...

its a easy job to fit them just takes a little time Smile have fun doing it Smile

You need a special tool to do the job.

All he is doing is replacing the clutch plates.

Hi
Yeah you need a castle sahped tool and an air compressor to undo the clutch without turing the wheel/engine.

Also make sure you remeber what order you take the clutch apart, i dindt and spent about 4 hours trying to put it back together, NC30 clutches use a kind of expanding diaphram and a rod instaed of just springs, so damn complicated for a clutch, stupid show offy honda!

That clutch tool is a right fucker to find, honda want something silly like £80 for one!

Mine needs doing, but i shall get the garage to do it at the same time as an oil and filter change.

You can make the tool yourself by getting an Impact socket and cutting chunks out of it.

I think if you were to get a garage to do it, it would probably be cheaper than buying the tool to do it yourself. Its only small job, Thumbs Up Dan
