Got a new bike Very Happy

Well not really, got it on the 21st of December, but only just got pictures and didn't want to announce it without them Smile After all my deliberation (Rest assured there was plenty) I was finally persuaded to buy this bike. So cheers to Dodsi for that. Also thankyou to the people in Irc who put up with me everyday asking if this bike was right or this bike or this bike etc. Laughing Especially Bendy and Robby, who probably endured the most of it.

So anyway, here it is!

A Kawasaki ER-5, with just over 5,000 miles on the clock, 2002 was the year, C2 was the model. Used previously as a training bike with it's two red sisters, it was the lesser used of the 3 hence the low mileage. Only slight cosmetic damage to the tank (A dent) and a slightly cracked mirror. Coloured in dark purple, I've run out of things to describe it with Laughing

This is the best picture on my phone...

https://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c165/Phant0mtek/Bike/Picture77.jpg

My new Nitro lid Smile

https://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c165/Phant0mtek/Bike/Picture83.jpg

The dent, muchly overexaggerated by my closeness I can assure you Smile

https://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c165/Phant0mtek/Bike/Picture72.jpg

The other side, quite blurry picture sorry it was cold Razz

https://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c165/Phant0mtek/Bike/Picture78.jpg

Do you have any idea how good a can like that looks (and sounds)after looking (and hearing) at a standard 50 can? Didn't think so Razz

https://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c165/Phant0mtek/Bike/Picture80.jpg

The clocks, great because I can tell n00bs my bike does 160mph Smile And before you ask why the mileage is so low, I have the other clock that was smashed and the mileage is fine, and I will be keeping the clock safe.

https://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c165/Phant0mtek/Bike/Picture82.jpg

Better view of the dent and KAWASAKI lol Laughing

Comments? Questions? (Nice ones) Smile

By the way before you ask, assessment booked on the 14th to see how much training I'll need and booking test on that day too, so that's a worry off my mind, should be ringing round for quotes soon enough too Smile

Thanks for reading,

Karma Joe Karma

Bargain Thumbs Up

Now get some paint (any paint) on the exposed metal of that dent or it'll rust like hell this time of year.

That is a pretty gucci helmet - how much did that set you back? I've got the Nitro N800v in black/white/silver - the idea being people would see me better with a bright disruptive pattern. The fact I'm sitting here now, and not working, suggests that it doesn't really matter, so I might look at getting one!

Nice first bike too - add a few dents of your own and you won't notice the original one Wink

Shocked Dodsi was talking about this; I wasn't really considering it all that seriously, but I think it's gonna have to be one of those for a starter big bike.

Nice job Joe, now as said get your arse in gear and get that test done Razz Embarassed and no joyriding! Tut Tut

Probably best to get onto it pre-emptively. Mild steel gets rust quicker than you can say 'new exhaust time!' in this kind of weather. Mad

Nice looking bike, much prefer one of those to the GS. Wink Thumbs Up

W00t, finally.

What are the plans with this then, ride and sell before summer, or keep it? Trackdays? WOOoo.

Bet you can't wait to get riding it legally, good luck with your test.

I also picked up that lid from the 2004 NEC for £70 but with a mirrored visor.

Enjoy. Mr. Green

So is this lid any good? Ive thought about getting a second?

Currently got a Caberg V2, but would like a proper tinted visor Razz (Which i can not find anywhere for that helmet) Also theres a nice deep scratch in the main visor and a few marks where i came off (only very small, might have been there already Laughing )

Ps. Sorry for going off topic maybe a little too much Angelic

Erm, been instructed to keep it for about 6 months as they get boring easily, I'm hoping to make abit on it too seen as I've seen the same thing with more miles go for £1500. (Won't fetch that though..) I might do a trackday with it but other BCFers have offered to lend me their bikes to do trackdays on, and I'm not going to decline Mr. Green All, these trackdays, it's gonna be an expensive year Laughing

Tisn't bad actually, fits perfectly but all the padding dwarfs my head compared to my last lid Laughing But for £70 it's a good lid. Thumbs Up
