Just fitted the second pair, not wired up yet would have been done today but the place i buy wiring is closed*

The driveing lamps have been fantastic, i'm hopeing these can come on with the low beam when it really needs to (like in the rain at night with mrbmw pointing 250watts of main beam my way)...

Thought i'd share Wink

*The place i live is so very very lame, shops will close on the anniversary of somebody eating a particuarly nice pork pie. :/

250watts, i'd be carefull about adding them as driveing lamps, if you have 55front and 55 either side thats ok for driving lamps, but anything above that is classed as spot/fog lamps, fog lamps added to main beam switch and spots on a seperate switch, just thinking for MOT purposes thats all, not so much the copper, as most panda cars have no idea anyway

555w means it's drawing 46A, must have some beefy cables in the wiring loom!

Each pair of lamps have one heavy duty relay, each lamp has its own wire(fused) straight to the battery. All have 100w bulbs except the dip wich is still the 55w as I will be upgrading to HID soon Wink . Alternator can cope as bike has ABS and heated grips as a high capacity one is fitted as standard, but the battery is giving up. A new Hawker Odyssey battery on the way next week. Thumbs Up

Personally I put them on my bike not for looks (the GS lacks them anyway) but......

A) the std head light is crap!

B) I do alot of night riding and I am sick of Numpties blinding me as 'I am only a motorbike with a single headlight'........its now payback time. Middle Finger

Could have done this but its a bit OTT! Mr. Green Shocked

Ever ridden a 20year old bike (with crap old lights) at night? Rolling Eyes

I'm with fingalonga on the night rideing, not so much for the blinding action (tempting) but it makes it all allot safer and all less pant fillingly scarey!

The round ones are fogs, 55watt each, these are on the low beam only, switched and has a blue warning light (high beam into fog just bounces the light rick back at you)
The square driveing lamps come on with the main beam all the time.

Was fairly sure they would be ok? As they are mounted i dont think theyd pass an mot as the driveing lamps are slightly in the way of the fogs, to save the hassle i might just take them off for the mot Neutral Or do some rearrangeing...

I doubt you would fail an MOT because of that as the fogs are aimed more to the side than straight ahead, what they may fail you for is the suspension travel, It looks like the front mudguard may touch the lights on full compression? If they don't then just ignore me. Wink

BTW forgot to say the Fogs(bottom two lights) are on with sidelight and headlight and can be turned off if required, the driving lights are on with main beam. I can also have the fogs go out when I go onto main beam and on again when I go back to dip. Shocked Hence the birds nest of wires behind the clocks. Shocked

Tell me about it, when i switch on the ignition the relays in there sounds like a tapdanceing class.. When i first got the bike i had to rewire the whole front cause it was a propper mess! Confused At least yours was tidy before you started Razz

The clearance.. i'm pretty sure it will be fine (mesured it against max travel), if it did bottom out i'd have bigger problems i think Shocked

555watt is a heeeell of allot of current draw! didn't realise any bike alternators output so much! Keep your oil tot he max level, supposedly it helps a put-upon alternator stay happy Thumbs Up

A good place for fogs for me I found was attached either side of the radiator, looks pretty menacing the spacing of them like that at night aswell

https://img488.imageshack.us/img488/9553/imag01443fq.jpg
(I had only wired up the left side when I took that pic)

The only other time it can look quite good I think is on those police type bikes with the big perspex screens that sit over the headlight and the 2 fogs either side.

That actually looks bretty cool Cool Was thinking of makeing a wire guard, dont think it need it but woudl look good..

Dukered - Vehicle wiring products sell them but i got mine from a local car parts shop, the likes of halfrauds do them but have a look in smaller places and you'll get them cheaper (i payed £15 for the driveing lamps and £18 for the fogs)
