When i try to start my suzi GS125('89) up the neutral light will dim a lot and itll make a fast clicking noise before completely dying. Ive checked the battery, and the voltage is fine. Does anyone know what the problem might be or what i could do to narrow down the cause?

Thanks.

check the battery voltage while trying to start it,if it falls below 10volt on cranking the battery is knackered.

Yep, classic symptoms of a gubbed battery. Give it a charge up and try. If that doesn't work and it will bump/jump start, buy a new battery.

^^^^^^

Agreed, it will be the battery. The clicking noise is just the relay, nothing mechanical so relax!! If the neutral light is coming on then there may just be enough power to bump start the thing if you need to get some where.

I bought a new battery a little while ago, and it seems to be fine. I will check the voltage when i try to start it up though just to check.

Ive tried bumping it a few times, and it doesnt seem to have enough power to do it.

What other tests whould i do on the battery to check it?

You need to check the voltage while there's a decent load across it.

I doubt there's anything that'll draw a decent enough current in your garage, but my dad used to use a small electric fire, then check the voltage.

But anyway, it's classic knackered battery.
