The cheap Yuasa/sprint lead/acid ones last about three years.
Halfords do some motorbike batteries. I had one of their sealed ones in my last bike and it was very good. Unsure if they do one that fits the GPZ. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”

Go to a bike store, and quote the numbers on your battery as dmahon said. The code for my sspeedfight battery is B4LB, normally preceeded by a letter to indicate the manufacturer. In my experience, the yuasa batteries have been a bit crap, but thats probably because a 2-stroke 50cc single isn't really going to be that effective in recharging them...

I can still highly recommend a sealed battery. Worth the money in my oppinion. They last longer and noticeably swing the engine over more forcefully on the starter, which can only be a good thing. You also don't have to check the electrolyte level etc. Fit and forget.
If you have access to a chemistry department, put a pinch of Disodium EDTA in each cell when you first get it. Reduces the build up of metal impurities on the plates and increases battery life. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen.
