problem engine idling too high

I have a cagiva mito thats meant to idle at around 2000 revs. However recently when pulling up at traffic lights and junctions etc when i puill the clutch in or the bikes in neutral its revving at 3-4k revs does anyone know why its doing this? the throttle lever is twisted all the way forward so its not a stuck handle.

very often is a dammaged cable (fiber broken which sock the handle) but it can be also no play on your throttle .

But, carb's shouldn't go out of adjustment. Try the following instructions, if that doesn't work you might have an air leak.

it should not idle at 2000rpm, no way, its normally around 1-1500k
