A dark chocolate brown is the best i believe.

Anything white is bad, means its running lean. Brown should be OK as long as it isn't oilly or really carbony (is that a word?) Embarassed

Yeah should be OK. If you got a Haynes manual for anything they usually have a guide in there somewhere with lots of pictures of spark plugs.

Top of the cylinder above the piston I imagine Razz

Follow the HT lead to the engine. Take that cap off. That thing poking out is the plug. Should say in the handbook too.

It is a wee bit oily from your picture. Better a bit oily than not oily enough.

Looks fine to me, They should be a biscuity brown colour, I tend to err on the dark side of brown (indicating a richer mixture), I don't really worry if there is some oil floating about there either providing it isn't interfering with the plugs functioning.

You will only get a real idea of how the engine is running by doing a 'plug chop' after riding the bike at full throttle for a while. Warm it up, go for a ride at full throttle, kill the engine, pull the clutch and come to a halt. Then check the plug, the colour of the electrode will then reflect how the bike is running at fully open throttle positions (which is where a 125 2t spends most of its life)

I assume there is a little hatch at the back of the 'footboard' at the front of the seat base? Normally it'd be where you put the petrol in. Above the petrol tank cap is another hatch. Lift that off and you should see the HT lead and plug cap under there. That is asuming that your moped is the same as most scooters I have encountered.
