SV1000s just for the sound it makes ____________________ "Speed:The thing about speed is that you can't catch the people who've attained it to ask them how they got so fast. Wouldn't see the point of getting an r6 after a hornet myself, if you're after something entertaining or slightly different. All it is is a faired hornet with a bit more power. Both will do the 1/4 mile in the same time and probably the same, torque wise.
Sorry, I'm biased, I had a hornet and a ninja 6, the hornet was more fun becasue it was naked. The fairing, to me just made it dull. Not fun unless you're going damn fast. Sort of like a bandit but faster. Can only imagine the r6 is the same to be honest.
Mind you, I get 'bored' quick.
P.S Ignore me and G, I dislike IL4's for the lack of character, and he dislikes vtwins for the same reason Although he says that but he's after another sv650 now so that speaks for itself eh G. |

i dont think i could make that decision, if the SV1000s came in curvey form or is a pointy black then i would say the R6
if it was a black SV i would go for that, however i think my next bike will be a IL600
you make hard decisions!! ____________________ 99 RS125 --> 02 SV650s --> 03 Speed Four --> 92 RXS100 --> 93 CB400sf --> 01 CB600f Hornet |

SV, just for the torque.
Consider insurance as well; I would say the R6 is 14 and the SV is 15. |

Note that NU insurance groups aren't the be all and end all, r6 may end up cheaper to insure.
If it's looks you're mostly bothered about, then <shrugs>, get whatever you think looks best .
For me there's a big difference between a hornet and a zx6; are you sure you were actually revving it, not just changing up at the same RPM?
Anyway, I seem to remember the SV not lasting long - you really need to try some litre fours to compare
(And why were you trying to sell that oh-so-great Storm so quickly, then? : - ) ) |

The R6 is small, taught and revvy.
The Sv-thou is large, relaxed and 'torquey'.
Quite different bikes to compare. The SV is a road based bike, the r6 more a track based bike.
Both of which are great in their own field, just quite different.
IMO, the R6 would be the sportier option. The SV's have a bit of sports-tourer to them. But it depends on what your using it for.
And yes, the SV will have a lovely t-twin boom to the exhaust note |
