could be a perforated diaphram in the carb? (not suer if they have them ion bandit's tho), or some other problem in the carb. meaning the engine runs a bit rich. fouls the plugs after a while, sooks up petrol like nothing, and fecks the power.

youll need to check the float heights, all the carb gaskets etc and the air filter.
Also check the main jet sizes, possibly someone has jetted it up for pod filters or similar and then stuff oe airbox or whatever back on.

Hi
Check that the fuel is not leaking into the engine while parked (can easily happen if the fuel tap is left on prime). Likely to result in the oil level going up as petrol gets into the cylinders, past the rings and dilutes the oil.
Check the carbs over carefully. Quite possible that someone has played with them for another pipe. Check the airbox lid as it is common on Bandits to cut a hole in this to increase airflow and if this is done it would suggest the carbs have been played with. Check the car needles and see if the needle position is adjustable which would suggest Dynojet or equivalent ones fitted.
Also check the choke cable is not sticking.
77 miles is rediculous. At a push I can get double that out of the 1200 Bandit before hitting reserve.
All the best
