Well I've found a beautiful 2001 R6 which I'm in a position to buy but my hopes have been shattered by some of the quotes I've just gotten! I just did a few quotes all they all came over £1500 TPFT. One place even quoted over £3500 for fully comp.
I'm 21 0 NCB and 3 points so I expected it to be a bit expensive but not that much surely? My 250 bandit is only £230 TFPT.
I've noticed a few of you about my age and experience who have R6s and was wondering how much you pay and if its less than what I've been quoted please can you give me a link ____________________ 1991 Suzuki GSF 250 Bandit - 2001 Yamaha YZF R6 - 1998 Suzuki GSF 600 Bandit N |

If you just switch the policy over to an R6, the hike will be lower than what you would pay for a new quote.
I was quoted £350 for a cagiva planet 125 tpo, but it was free to switch my insurace from my scooter (£189 tpo). That's a fairly healthy saving.
If you've still got insurance woes, think about buying a rarer bike. The rarer the bike, the cheaper the insurance.
2 quotes from experience: £380 for a cagiva mito, £1169 for an aprilia rs125, same power, same year, same value, same insurance group.

Cheers for the tips guys Paid for the bike today and im collecting it on wednesday so I got til then to phone as many people as possible.
Bring back the days when Danny was it? from this forum would do all the hard work for you and find the best quote all for a very resonable price.
Used https://www.thebikeinsurer.co.uk/ thanks to a link in another thread and got it down to £733TPFT but thats without trying some of those tips.
Also Yokogeri recommend motorcycle direct who sound very resonable so gonna have to give them a call.
Anyway wish me luck as the hunt starts and hopefully I can get a resonable price, if not it looks like I'll be spending a few more hours at the office to pay for it all! ____________________ 1991 Suzuki GSF 250 Bandit - 2001 Yamaha YZF R6 - 1998 Suzuki GSF 600 Bandit N |
