Just got pulled about 15 mins ago, by 2 officers, who kindly gave me a producer and told me to go more carefully, when all i actually did was exit a junction, a little quickly, when there was easily a big enough gap.
I was on a 50cc.
I think theres better things to do with their time, sorting out the fight that happened 5 mins after right near me, than stopping a 16 year old, to slap his wrists about doing something perfectly safely but a little fast.

I know they're only doing their jobs, thats fair play, but i was doing no harm, and was well within my limits, and i feel its a bit harsh!
Thats my second producer in 2 weeks, admittedly the first was my own fault.

What do you lot think?

the police can be like that, at least they only gave you a producer, could have been worse like a fine or something stupid.

They like to put the shitters up you.

The caught me and a few mates weighing up some pot in a carpark last week. the stuff was blatently my mates, but we were dropping him in it.

They searched the car, claimed loads of this about it were illegal, acused me of driving under the influence, and claimed half the things we had on us were illegal.

In the end they charged my mate with possesion and went ont heir way. all these illegal things they found were forgotten about when they had what they wanted.

as you said, they were probably filling in time and hoping that they might find something illegal about your ped.

Yeah thats it, though the bloke clearly didnt know what he was on, as he asked me if its manual or auto, when you can clearly see, its not gonna be geared!
ah well, not the end of the world, though i do have to go careful, as i just blagged my way out of 3 points and a £60 fine about 2-3 weeks ago!!
Since then, i have been pulled once more, and fallen out with a community service police officer 3 times!
I hadn't done anything wrong any time other than the first time i got pulled!

Must just be filling time.
They didnt check the bike or anything, they can clearly see its up together!

Im quite happy that youve been stopped if your legit you have nothing to worry about. The next time they run your plate they will know your insured taxed and have the correct licences.
There are to many uninsured kids on peds making out premiums skyrocket

Think of it this way some kid on a ped trys to race you screws up hits you and writes off your bike. You now have no bike probably a couple of grand debt youll be paying for the next 3 years or so and cant work for a few weeks as your injured. And he has no insurance to pay you out. The main question on your mind will be why couldent the lazy assed cops pull twats like that over and arrest them... Thumbs Up

I fully agree with you CyberGlass.
I also paid the extra £20 insurance to make me covered if i get hit by an uninsured driver (for court costs).
My mate knows what its like, though it was his fault when he hit another car.
He was all legal and so had nothing to worry about - Good job too, as he did £1400 worth of damage to the car and barely broke the panel onn his ped!

Yep, a lot less hassle and shuts 'em up straight away.

Be grateful your not riding in Europe, they'll arrest you on the spot in some countries if you don't have all your documents with you, including your V5 !

True, but the only thing is, that if my ped goes missing one day, i have no logbook, drivers licence, CBT certificate, Insurance cover note, meaning basically, i have no proof that i ever had the bike, other than the keys!

What i hate is it works out a lot cheaper if your not insured and you don't get in as much trouble as you actually should.

Wear a hoody - Under my jacket!
but then when it rains (all the time in the UK), things are going to get damaged, and i'd rather not risk it, though would a photocopy of everything suffice? If it would, then its not a bad idea to carry a copy round!

I always carry my M.O.T., Insurance and Licence Counterpart in a zip up plastic pouch, zipped up in my inside pocket and my plastic card licence is always in my wallet anyway, I've not had a problem with rain.

It's your choice, but for me the nearest cop shop is a 30 mile round trip so I'd rather have them with me and save the hassle, also nice to wipe the smug look of their faces when they pull you over for a random check Wink Although since riding a big bike I've not had any run in's unlike when I used to ride 125's on L's, I used to get tugged at least once a week Rolling Eyes

Yeah, its getting that way.
Thing is, even if i had a full licence and removed my L's, I'd then get tugged for having no L's until they realise i don't need them!
Can't win around here.
I might well do that with my Documents, not such a bad idea, even if i put them in like a plastic pencil case or something!

I rode with a few 50cc bike riders today, and what seemed safe to them didnt always seem it to me. Nice lads tho. I think its quite possible that the police saw something dangerous and pulled you over in case the bike was stolen or no tax or insurance or something.

I have every single piece of information relating to my bike in a plastic sandwich bag in my drawer.

(V5, MOT's, Paper License, Theory Pass, CBT Cert, Insurance Cert, Service Reciepts, etc)

Then you just take that into cop shop, throw it down on desk, job done.

Dont see why people lose documents like that Rolling Eyes
