Quick advise need before i wash my Alpinstars textile jacket

ok, i went out and brought the nikowax stuff to clean the jacket and also the waterproofing stuff,

However my jacket says handwash only at 30 degrees, so that means i cant put in the washine machine, which means the stuff i brought cant be used?

anyone put a "hand wash jack only" on a gental wash in the washine machine?

I wash all my textile kit with nikwax stuff in warm water in the bath tub. Don't plan on using it in the next few days as it takes an age to dry out afterwards!

I'm not sure about using a washing machine, some of the newer ones have fancy delicates settings that do a very slow spin and no final spin. I washed my Draggin jeans like this yesterday and they came out fine.

I would be careful washing textiles, it seems pretty easy to kill the waterproofing and the re-waterproofiing stuff never seems to work too great.

Remove any armour, zip it up and throw it in on the “delicate” setting. You’ll have to rinse it out in the shower afterwards as they don’t drain too well in machines.

To activate the nikwax you’ll want to hang it in the airing cupboard or on a radiator.

well i hand washed it and got most of the muck off, the bit where its damaged where i came off my RS125 (low speed) is bit dirty but got most of the road much that made the white bits this horilble grey colour off, i put in in the sink with all the amour removed and put stuff in water and used a cloth with a bit of the stuff neat and scrubed the worst area

Letting it dry in the kitchen and using hair drying every now and then so it will be dry tomorrow!!
