We are just in the throws of moving house and so are purging everything that we can get away with not taking to the new one.

I decided to check the product dates on some of my old 'second' lids and have found that they are over 5 years old now.

It seems a shame to throw out a lid that when new cost over 400 squids

So then, suggestions on what I can do with them?

What size are they? I don't believe in the 5 year thing. Wink

Stick neons in them.

In a games room or garage. They would look pretty cool.

ebay just state the age
not everyone cares about best before dates
i wdnt be surprised if a 10 year old £400 helmet is better than a 2 year old £60 one

got any plain none-patterned ones ?

i would, the UV light that has got to a helmet over 5 years decays the polymer it is made of making it weaker, as fairly brittle (cracks instead of plastically deform like a tough material) i would be very suprised if it proformed better

all helmets have to go though safty check and the difference between £60 and £400 is a lot to do with:
Arrow design
Arrow noise from wind
Arrow viosr/vents
Arrow graphics

Nice try....... Wink

One is a black AGV X-Vent from when they first came out, but has the venting cracked where I used to have a too low roof on my garage Embarassed Rolling Eyes

The other is a Scott Russell rep that I taxed from my ex when I left. This is the one I want to keep really, it seems a shame to throw such an expensive nice looking lid

PMSL! I can picture that now! Laughing I'd say they'd make a great display like Andy said. Smile

Is there a charity / kids riding place near you, like Bumpy near Wakefield, that you could donate them to?

Just an idea, good Karma and all that. Other than that, make them into hanging baskets for summer?

Could possibly donate them to some first aid place/course, so they can practice removing helmets?
