I had my XR125 for 14 months, which was nice. I loved that bike.

Bought my 125 6 months after I passed my restricted licence test. Spent the first 6 months of my “big bike” life on a derbi senda.

That was nearly 5 years ago. Kept it so long because it’s cheap to insure and I can’t be arsed to sell it and buy another one. I’m also rather picky and I’d need a fair amount of cash to get a “big” bike of the same age and condition (picky yes, but I don’t want to take a step back in styling or technology).

People have a thing against 125’s but I’m happy with mine. I always get off it with a smile on my face and the only time I wish I had something bigger is doing 20+ miles on dual carriage ways.

It’s only when I’m riding with bigger bikes or playing with high-end cars do I whish I had more power and speed.

Hi

No real plans to sell any of the 125s. All of them are 2 strokes. Bought one of them in July 1989.

All the best

Keith

I've had my NSR for a year, I love riding it but can't really afford to run it and the GPZ so tend to take it out when GPZ is in the garage having work done.

I'd like to have the money to keep it but that's not going to happen.

I've had the varadero 125 for 2 years, I'll keep it for another 1 mayb as my brother is having it when he turns 17.

Wish I'd bought a DT125 instead of the NSR though as I really want an off road toy and a DT would be perfect, even if highly nickable

Plan to keep mine for a good few years. I've got to do my driving test soon (believe me, if you saw the state of the roads I live near, you wouldn't want to ride all year round!), and I'm going to keep mine as a summer toy, maybe be able to tune it a little once I don't need it as my sole means of transport.

I'm going to do my bike test as soon as the car is all done with, going to be awesome through summer. None of the roads here are big enough to really fully max out a larger bike anyway, so I should be OK on my little 'un for a while. I'm not bored of it yet, and I've had a few months on it.. Wink
