Well, I went for it!

Booked yesterday off work. Took a trip to Romford and test rode the SV650.

Much fun! Was a bit wet on the roads so couldn't go too mad, but got the general impression of the bike.

Not quite sure what it is, but I just felt more happier on it than the bandit. Perhaps is pyscologial and the 'shiny new toy' effect. But we shall see over the coming weeks. Time ot invest in some crash bungs I think!

I pick it up Saturday and should have pics up on Sunday. Very Happy

Well Done!

Now get a couple more years NCD under your belt and you can get the XJR1300! Wink

No really, hope you have lots of safe & happy miles on the SV.

And get those bungs fitted!

Cool.

You can always talk to extreme3D for everything you need to know, he has hours of information which will leave you in awe, all the thing you didn't know about the exact angle of the tax disc holder bearing a direct advantage for aerodynamics, or top tips on how to beat a ZX6R on it Laughing

Thumbs Up Nice bike Wink

Well, here's the first pic. It's not very good as it was only taken a while ago in the dark. Still got the Bandit sitting behind, selling that soon if anyone's interested? Wink

I'll try to get some more pics up when it's sunny. Seem to spend most of my time washing it at the moment! Laughing

Also, as suspected with Suzuki's, the bolts holding the calipers have rusted. Any suggestions as to what to replace them with?

Very nice.. good choice of bike.

As for the calipers, replace the bolts with stainless.
There's usually someone on e-bay selling a brake bolt kit.
Failing that, try M&P motorcycle accessories.

I'd just ignore all the rusty and corroded bits. I've found with my SV650 it corrodes up to the point of looking arse, then stops corroding any more.

Stainless caliper bolts will still discolour, and I'm loathe to use anything but genuine OE bolts on brakes.
