Hi,

I have only been to the MCN events, which are good. The accommodation is a basic but ok (we go for silver). The canteen ford for the catered option is OK but nothing to get excited about.
If you are self catering the takeaway food is extortionate, the shop to cook your own is just expensive.

I think the average entertainment might be a bit cheesy for my taste.

Good luck

C

Can't comment on what they're like to go to. I work in the Butlins Head Office in Hemel Hempstead and it's a great place to work. Got offered a free ultimate weekender today as it goes. No help to you whatsoever, just thought i'd get involved! Very Happy

I used to go to the MCN weekends every year for about 4 years.

If you have never been they are great, you just have to remember to leave your sense of being an adult at home!

A good example of this is when we got into a massive water fight with a group of blokes from scotland in the main 'entertainment' hall. It soon expanded into an all out mass water fight in the entire hall Cool , the only people that left were the Goldwing owners club Rolling Eyes Twisted Evil

I wouldn't go half board though, their is much more a sense of community that exists in the self catering side, and you would miss all the late night messing about and inpromptue stunt shows that go on during the day Cool .

I don't know much about any of the other sites but if you go to the Skegness one there is a large(ish) supermarket not far form the site, so you don't have to pay the inflated site prices.

That sounds awesome RealNinja, Ive never heard of these events before.

Is it an MCN annual thing?

Where's it at and whatnot? When is it?

oh we have been half board and selfcatering and have not noticed a lot of difference ear plugs are a definite requirement if you intend to sleep at any time Very Happy

A couple of years ago my parents had a caravan there right near the fence for a quiet weekend early in the season (same weekend as MCN) with some friends - they went home early......

Regards
