Very Happy No big deal, but Mr Peppers has his first little trip of the season booked Very Happy .
14 of April sees me getting to Lands End and Lizard point.

Going to leave ipswich early on the 14th (sunday) and hopefully i will have enough time when I get there to visit both places.
If I get into Cornwall late for some reason, I still have the next day to go where i need to go!
Going to take a nice steady return journey to try and see a bit and stop off where-ever takes my fancy? I dunno? Bodmin?
Was thinking of using the old A30 rather than the A303.

Any thoughts out there?

Stonehenge is on the A303.

Other than that the A30 is not a bad route for a not in a hurry ride.

woodhenge is also just 2 miles from stonehenge, but all the once wooden posts are marked with concrete ones. I wanted to go there when I visited stonehenge, but couldn't find it as I did not have a satnav at the time Rolling Eyes

Oh yer Smile hotel room booked, cheapish Thumbs Up
Result! my missus got me a deal from the Hotel chain she works for? as she knows who to book with.

It only takes me about five minutes to wire in my sat-nav on to my bike as the socket is already in place.

How sad ! a short trip to the west country and I`m all excited?
Must be the thought of shaking off the winter Thumbs Up

Go past stone henge, follow signs for wood henge at the next roundabout.

It's only 50 miles from you isn't it?

If you are heading that way let me know, i'll buy you a coffee as a thank you.

Never thought much of Yeovil at all...

Might be heading out to Lands End tomorrow. Seems to be about the warmest place in the country at the moment so the plan is to test out my new sleeping bag wild camping tomorrow night then ride back to Southampton on Saturday.

Will check out the St Ives -> St Just road Smile

I have spent a good few hours at Jamaica Inn & had a drink & a cake in the cafe/restaurant. I have also ridden part of the road from St Just to St Ives, but I started at Sennen (Land's End) and rode to St Just, then a little bit further alongtowards St Ives before heading back to my tent in St Austell. That was a good 9 nights spent in Cornwall Smile

Right so I can confirm that I did not die. However I got quite wet towards the end of last night's riding and quite cold at times in my tent when it was very very close to freezing. Impressed with my new sleeping bag and alpkit mat though, considering the conditions.

The St Just to St Ives road was great for views and bends but was covered in salt, mud and gravel so I was taking it very very easy.

Have some photos!

You wouldn't have found the signpost unless you parked up and walked through all the buildings to reach the end of the land. You cannot take vehicles any further than the car park.

Hehe. The Ninja is gorgeous. I've been lusting after it since I started biking. When my friend who owned it moved to Paris and I got a fairly reasonable insurance quote on it, I couldn't not buy it.

The rest of the bikes are sadly in various states of needing work. I just never seem to have the time when it's light and dry and I won't have a garage until towards the end of the summer at the rate I'm going.

Breakfast was courtesy of Smokey Joe's Cafe, Scorrier. Off the A30.

Did a bit of wandering around on foot looking for the sign and failed.
