This post is a bit girly, for that I'm sorry
Has anyone found a gel / mouse / wax / putty / mud that will keep my shortish hair style looking reasonably good after wearing the helmet.

Many times I have turned up for work as the 'chemo kid'
I think I have scared the shit out of a few old grannies in the middle of the night when answering the call buzzer.
I get pissed of shaving my face, let alone shaving my head every couple of days as if grow for a week or so, it looks like my arse, all furry ____________________ Current : MSX 125 Past : CBR 900RR Monkeybike : c50 LAC : ZXR750 H2 : FZR600 : ZX7R P3 : YW100 : TRX850: Trophy 900 T309 : GSXR 600 L0: Monkeybike : XJ6S Whosthedaddy |

After a year and a half I have found an answer to helmet hair (well it works for me!).
I normally just chuck on the helmet and when i take it off my hair seems to have the lines/shape of the inside of the helmet carved into it making me look like a fool when I am at uni.
But the solution is this....a balaclava! Yes, wear it over you head and it stops your hair taking the shape of the inside of a helmet. When you get off the bike and take off the balclava just put hand through hair to fluff it up abit (as it may be a bit flat from wearing the balaclava) and hey presto! no more nasty helmet hair.
Well it works for me! |

I found putting Gel in, for instance brylcream gel about half an hour before putting the helmet on worked well. The gel dries, and then is only mildly rubbed outwhen you put it on.
So my hair used to look damn good. ____________________ China traffic/travel bike vid - When I make a sweeping statement, please add the word 'statistically' in to the sentence before you bitch...

I just rub my head when I take the helmet off. After a week of caring when I first got my bike, I found going to the bathrooms to be a ponce was just too much hassle, so I stopped bothering. Now, after a 5 month gap of having no bike at all, I haven't gelled my hair once, I just look like a scruffy git.
I will have to cut it shorter once I'm wearing a helmet again, though. |
