A 125cc 2t engine? Or a 80 degree hill?

Save the money for when you can do your test and get a bigger bike. You'll probably get more for the bike when selling it on if you dont do all those mods.

An 18mm or 21mm carb is well worth it as the std carbs are designed for restricted bikes.

Metrakit UK is good for carbs.

Okay you wont get paticularly good responses on here, people will tell you to save up for a bigger bike. But I'll tell you anyway. You want a dr73.5 big bore. 21mm dell'orto carb. twin exhausts im not sure about, dunno if your bike uses the same mounting points as the rs50, if so a twin endy exhaust is good. Maybe carbon reeds aswell if you plan to be at high-ish rpm. Combine these mods with 14/43 sprockets and you can hope for about 75-80mph. www.cmpracing.com for all your modding needs.

Oh, no idea about fairings though.

I was going to go on about using the money for a bigger bike, but I just can't be arsed TBH.

Go, on tune the fuck out of it. Have a crash, have it inspected, lose your licence, get bummed on insurance for years after getting it back, and thats if it doesn't go pop before any possible accident.

Top idea. Wink

When I tuned my 100 I put alsorts on it, it was fast as feck. I had everything from bigger carb to roller weight set right to variator springs and kevlar belts and exhaust and lots of other litle things.

If you want higher speeds, get a technigas free flow exhaust, increases your top end power so with a melossi variator kit like I had you will have the little extra high end power to take advantage of the gearing out caused by the variator.

If you want even more top speed, get a geared up secondary gears kit, but the disadvantage with this is that your acceleration at low speeds will be next to nothing, but you top end power will be good enough to get past 75mph. We had to fit a sports clutch and clutch bell so the bike's clutch engaged at 5,000rpm just to get a half decent pull off (we did this all just to see if we could get to 100mph, we were young silly kids with big ideas)

Me and my friend did this before and with the exhaust, carb, free flow air filter, correct weights, variator kit, secondary gears and a stiffer variator spring for a little better acceleration we were hitting very close to 85mph with the possible potential of greater speeds only if we could get more power out of it, which was very very near impossible with a 100c scooter with out a bore up to a 125.

If you're rstricted to a 50cc now then it isn't going to be very long before you're allowed a 125, why not just wait those few months? Seems a lot of effort and expense for very little gain to me, quite apart from the unreliability issues you'll have, and the fact that it's very not legal and probably quite irresponsible?

Not at all, anyone with these mods will tell you how much difference they make, alot of people in america have tuned 50's, aswell as litre sports bikes. With the mods you can actually keep up with traffic, 50mph isnt quite enough. Ever tried going into a turn on a 50? Theres not enough power to pick itself up on the exit. Reliability issues are overexagerated. Granted, the big bore will put more stress on the crank, but plenty of people have the mods I listed on the stock crank without problems. And yes it is illegal, but then again so is de restricting it, and how many people actually have them restricted?

Well yes, fair enough, my point was that if he waits just a few months he can flog it and replace it with a 125, which will give him more than the desired increase anyway. Probably for less money than he'd have spent tuning his 50, and the 125 will be faster, more torquey, and be more reliable. And still legal.

If you ever get it going 75+ you'd better be prepared for a rebuild almost straight away.

Rebuilding it after you throw it off a cliff to get it to 75 isnt going to be easy by the way

Good luck Laughing Thumbs Up

Trust me, just about every ped boy says there ped does 70 mph, I had a geared sports bike 50cc which was derestricted and it done an indicated 60mph on a flat road.. and thats a reallly long flat road with no wind.

If I was you Id save my money and buy alcohol or somthing, unless your 50 is still restricted or somthing.

A Big bore kit does make it go faster, but you need a better carb, differnt gearing, ect. Not to mention the cost of paying for the damaged you caused if you do crash your bike and wreck another car or somthing since your insurance will fine you for not being void..
